TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

My name is Sam; a 20-something freelance graphic designer living in Yorkshire. I’m a computer geek, gaming nerd and huge foodie.

WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING?

I first started blogging in 2014 to share my thoughts on the latest games, tech releases and my graphic design business. It mostly consisted of reviews, wishlists and personal posts on my life as a freelance graphic designer.

HAS YOUR BLOG CHANGED SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED?

My blog has evolved over time and has turned into a fully-fledged lifestyle blog covering various aspects of my life from business advice, personal finance, food & leisure as well as home and motors. I also feature occasional gift guides from a man’s point of view.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FUNNIEST MOMENT SINCE STARTING YOUR BLOG?

Having to explain why I actually ‘waste my time’ on my blog – most people think it’s like an online diary for preteens! What they don’t know is that it’s led me to make new friends, gain amazing opportunities and work from home!

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR WORST MOMENT SINCE STARTING YOUR BLOG?

Redesigning my blog layout and thinking that I had lost all my posts which I created by putting in a lot of time and effort; I just wasn’t looking in the right place, so there was a happy ending!

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A NEW BLOGGER STARTING OUT?

Stay true to yourself & don’t follow the herd – your interests may just tap into a small niche which can skyrocket your readership!

WHAT SURPRISED YOU ABOUT BLOGGING THAT YOU DID NOT REALISE BEFORE YOU STARTED?

When you start to take it seriously, you need a lot of time and patience! I salute bloggers who juggle it with a family and full-time/part-time job.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

I’m a computer geek, gaming nerd and huge foodie. I’m also partial to movie marathons, Netflix binges and theatrical productions. However, above all, I enjoy the occasional staycation (I have a flying phobia!) and lazing around in bed all day (I wish…)

IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY WHAT WOULD YOU DO FIRST?

Decide which charities I would like to give half of my winnings to. I believe that giving to charity makes your wealth grow in abundance!

WHO IS YOUR BLOGGING HERO AND WHY?

This is a hard one and I can’t really pinpoint one blogger. So, I’m going to say all those bloggers who are there to help and support other bloggers, no matter how big or small the issue, because without them, I wouldn’t still be blogging 🙂

  1. I love that he identified what most of us experience as bloggers. The individuals that are nay sayers or since they dont get it, it must not work

  2. He is so young and has established himself as a noteworthy blogger. That’s impressive. I know I still have a long way to go with my blog so I will draw inspiration from this young man.

  3. Sam is interesting! It’s great that you feature different bloggers. I think adding more pictures will improve this. Anyway, I’m signing up for this. Thanks for the opportunity!

    1. Thank you I am glad you are enjoying the series as much as I am, I have a lot more Bloggers scheduled to share about them x

  4. Great interview! Always amazing to meet/hear about other bloggers and their journey! I agree with one of your responses in your comment section, bloggers do a lot of WORK! A lot of people who are not into blogs/blogging do not understand the amount of work that goes behind it. It is not just about writing. I could go on and on. I really enjoyed this interview, thank you for sharing! 🙂
