Life In a Lockdown Linky -Week 45

We have somehow we have made it through another week of Lockdown, and reached Tuesday.  This means it is time for my Life In A Lockdown linky – week 44.

I have no idea how a week can go so fast, when you are stuck home in Lockdown.  Somehow the weeks are spreading by.  If you are interested in joining in the linky the questions are below.

The questions

1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I am very up and down, I am still in a lot of pain from my biopsies, I am now thinking that something must be irritating the area where I had them taken.  So every time I move or lift anything I am aggravating it.  Easy solution just to take it easy for a few days which is not really possible at the moment.  I have had my biopsy results back and they are all clear, which is great news and should hopefully mean no more for at least another two years.

I have also been very up and down over C’s EHCP, I have now received the panel notes which got me fuming all over again.  Out of 17 people on the panel only 1 person has ever met or spoken to C, and the reports they were going on was complete rubbish.  I am documenting our journey for this, as an outlet for me, plus also to help others facing this now or in the future. I have also emailed our MP, who has no influence over decisions, but can help in supporting us.  We have a meeting now booked with him.

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

Apart from C’s education, as it is looking like no holidays anytime soon, we have been decorating.  I say decorating, starting on our bedroom, we have totally gutted it.  The new flooring and bed is done and now living in boxes and storage bags until our new wardrobes are here next week.  I really can not wait for this to be over as the mess and clutter is driving me mad.

We are also totally gutting our bathroom, and now everything has been delivered are planning this over the weekend.  Our current bathroom is horrible, so really can not wait for the new one to be installed.

3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?

I really have no idea, and get so confused over things –

  • They say the numbers are going down on one report, then the next saying the current vaccine does not protect against the new strains coming through
  • Over 50’s to be vaccinated by end of May, this is my age bracket so hopefully it will be a step forward

It just seems that we get positive news that things are moving forward, and that we can start to move towards more freedom. Then bam we get news were it seems we will continue in Lockdown.

4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?

How much we really took daily life and freedom for granted, how missing seeing our family and friends would make us feel.  The vulnerability you feel just popping to the shops.

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

I seem to have deliveries coming all the time at the moment, a new bed and mattress and a gorgeous huge fluffy rug which I am in love with.  Also various bits for the bedroom, I am trying to shop in smaller businesses where I can,

6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?

Technology, it really does get me through it.  I had a lovely FaceTime with my 3 year old granddaughter last week, where she told me how she had been a good girl, and showed me how she brushes her teeth, and the other random things 3 year olds come out with.  She really lifted my spirits.

7) What is something your readers might not know about you?

I really can not think of anything at the moment, am sure there is a ton of things

8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

My family and friends, and coffee

Thank you to

  1. How ridiculous, how can people who have never spoken to you personally have an influence over the situation, they’re just going by notes and reading and hearing can always be very different. I hope the home improvements go well – stressful but once they’re over with, one sigh of relief pending.

    1. It is ridiculous and some of the reports that we had not seen of so called professionals were totally inacurrate and complete nonsense. The home improvements are stressing me out now but will be great once finished

  2. Oooh, I like the sound of your huge fluffy rug. I’m definitely with you on the attempts to shop small businesses… it can be hard on occasions though.

    1. We have waited a long time to totally do what we are doing, usually it is a bit of paint etc, we are totally gutting back to the shell. You will have a nice new home you can do that too

  3. I am so lonely but I am adjusting to being home all the time. I visit places and people online. I have been doing some crafts and planning my garden.

  4. Can’t wait to see your new fluffy rug – redecorating during lockdown is such a nice idea. Having to spend so much time at home really highlights what you’d like to change. I’m sorry you’re having such a difficult time and suffering pain!
