Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 17

It is Tuesday which means it is time for my weekly post in the Life In A Lockdown Linky.  Where I share the ups and downs of the past week.  Although we are now easing out of Lockdown, things are still not as they were before this.

So how has this past week been?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

Last week, I spoke about our consultation with C’s Consultant who has now put her on a 3 months supply of anti virals.  The pain is no better and it did spike on Thursday, but am hoping this is the medication starting to work (looking on a positive front).

I have also been busy trying to sort the mess over her education.  It is so unfair that had she not been unfortunate to get an illness and suffer with a chronic illness for 5 years, she would have education automatically.  Because a child who is ill, through no fault of their own, does not have this option.  I have been looking at various options for her such as deferring back to Year 11, online courses etc.

I had a telephone meeting with someone from the education department on Thursday morning and a video meeting with someone else on Thursday afternoon.  Both saying different things, both suggesting different things.  So at the moment I am totally confused.

I also had a very informative telephone meeting with someone, who gave me a lot of advice and areas to go for support.  Who has made me feel hopeful we will win the appeal.

So on the whole, am a little less stressed if not more confused than I was last week.

2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?

Apart from working, the above is keeping me more than busy it is a mine field.

3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?

I had to pop out on Wednesday, so hubby came with me and we had lunch out, and a walk along the river stopping for a couple of drinks along the way.  It was so lovely to feel normal again and being out in the fresh air. We also met up with friends on Saturday and went out for dinner.  I have really missed doing this and really was great to go out with others.

4) What advice do you have for others?

Wear your mask –  this is for everyone.  Also wear your mask properly, this means covering your mouth and your nose at the same time.  Having your mask on your chin or in your hand does not mean the same thing.

If you are looking for new masks I have a lovely giveaway currently running where you can win 2 face masks.

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business

As we saw our granddaughter the week before, Caitlin and I chose a couple of things for my other two grandchildren and sent them a surprise through.  Also some hair bits for C as her hair is so long and gets matted easily.

6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

I have forgotten what a routine is, but have managed to sort breakfast and meds for C, and have lunch and dinner everyday.  So going to take that as being ok haha.

7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

Just trying to catch up with those we have missed while Lockdown has been on.

Thank you to

The amount of people I’ve seen wearing masks but not covering their noses is unreal! Bet it was good to get out for lunch and drinks. Hubby and I need to do this soon!

I have been amazed at how many people aren’t wearing a mask when going out. I’m struggling with wearing one more than I expected but still trying my hardest.

I am angry right now. We lost our internet connection yesterday and I have already called the phone company 3 times – same answer, “service will resume in 3 to 6 days.” OMG. I am only using a prepaid service right now and the speed is snail pace. I hope things get better today. I don’t need anymore stress than I already have to deal with.

Sorry that your weekend been up and down honey. You will get there I’m sure of it. Also the masks ugh drives me mad the amount of people I see pull it down to talk in shops! Defeats the object totally
