The sun is shining, and the days are starting to get a little longer. Soon we will be putting the clocks forward as well welcome my favourite season. I am not sure about you, but this always makes me want to start the spring cleaning. Here I share How To Get Ahead Of Spring Cleaning.
Where we change throws and cushions, look at changing our wardrobes from our winter woollies. We can start to wear lighter clothes and believe it or not even I have ditched my boots (apart from when it is raining).
We clean our homes all the time, so what is different about a Spring Clean. For me it is cleaning out cupboards, freshening up clothes. Just looking around and making things a little brighter and fresher.

For me I do not have a to do list, or a plan of what I want to do in each room. This does work for some for me I would get distracted by something else.
I do love a nice smelling home, and use a combination of home made cleaning products and those I purchase. I also have wax melts, plug in air fresheners. This keeps my home smelling fresh.

Kitchen

This is where I go through all my cupboards and throw out old packets and tins that are out of date (yes I do have these). Clean all my appliances and move them around if I fancy a change around.
My go to products I use are –
- White Vinegar
- Zoflora as I love the fragrances
- Utensils that are not used as often are put through the dishwasher to give them a clean
Bedrooms

I love to change my bedding, go for lighter brighter patterns. This is also the time to pack up your thick winter woollies and jumper dresses. Bring out the lighter clothes. I do love my fragrances as mentioned above and I add this with reed diffusers. As much as I love my candles and wax melts. I would never have a lighted flame in a bedroom.
Living Room

I love changing cushion covers and throws for something more spring like. I also declutter and change the scents of my wax melts and candles for something a little fresher.
Things To Do In Your Spring Clean
You may think why do I need to Spring clean, I clean all the time. This used to be me. My home is clean, it can get cluttered but nothing a sort out can not do. A Spring clean is looking at things a little bit deeper
- Move furniture and hoover underneath and behind – this can often be forgotten
- Clean skirting boards and door frames
- Wash your net curtains or freshen up your curtains
- Freshen up your spring wardrobe. I love washing an hanging my washing up to dry. If I do not have a full wash I use a colour catcher to stop any colour getting on my lights.
- De-clutter and wipe down all those hidden shelve areas
- Add fragrance to your bathroom. I need a clean toilet and a fresh smelling bathroom. One product I use all the time is Bloo. This gives a lovely fragrance, stops limescale and helps keep my toilet clean.
Do Not Forget Outdoor Cleaning

As much as I do not like the garden, well gardening. I do like it tidy and clean. Now is the time to clean the outside too
- decking
- greenhouses
- plant pots
- garden furniture
The best way of doing this is using a good quality cleaner. Jeyes Outdoor Cleaner, is perfect for this and even safe to use on animal houses.
Spring cleaning does not have to be done in one go, I find that when doing my normal cleaning, I do a little extra in one room each time.
Why in the Spring Cleaning mood why not look at Spring Cleaning your finances as well.
Do you do a Spring clean?

rather late this year – I intend to get garden furniture out today – been painting fence but energy is low
Good luck it is so hot at the moment that everyones energy levels are low
I love a good clean, especially a spring clean. Once I’ve finished and sat down and I can smell the cleaning products, see no clutter, light my candles, I feel a sense of accomplishment.
I have not done the spring clean I wanted due to issues with my arm and hand but doing it slowly and it will get there
With two young kids, we’re constantly cleaning but I do love Spring where I can start putting away the throws and extra blankets we use on our sofas. I can also focus on clearing some desk space from pens and colouring pencils to place some lovely Spring flowers to bring a bit of Spring indoors.
I am always cleaning as well, it is just one of those things you can not help do. I do love a Spring clean and doing those extra little bits
You can’t beat walking into a home that smells clean and looks spotless. I’m ok once I get started but getting the impetus to do the first room is sometimes hard, at least while the weather is still so cold and damp.
I am totally with you on that, I think having a bit of sunshine and being able to get some fresh air indoors really does give me the kick start to get motivated
Blitzing indoors at the moment
Outdoors will have to wait for better weather
I did think it was changing but then the rain came again
My skirting boards collect so much dust, so target them if I am having a spring clean!
I have to admit they are the one area I do ignore when just doing housework, which is another reason I love a spring clean
Lots of good ideas on things to do – i love once a spring clean has been done!
I do love a spring clean it always makes me feel so much happier knowing it has been done
I love spring cleaning, there is something so satisfying about it!
As much as I hate cleaning, I am fussy about having a clean home, I do love a spring clean as I know everything has been sorted and cleaned
