We have all made it to Friday, even in this sweltering heat. I have been suffering and not enjoying the heat at all. Although it does feel a little cooler today.
How has your week been? With all the restrictions lifted are you enjoying care free life again, or still being cautious.
With restrictions lifted on Monday, it seems to have caused a lot of arguments on whether you should or should not wear a face mask. Those wearing them getting annoyed at those who do not and those who are not getting annoyed at those who are. I did go to Primark on Tuesday and picked a time I knew it would be pretty empty and did not wear one, firstly because I can not look around for more than 10 minutes with one on without having to remove layers and I could not do that, and my glasses steam up getting me even more annoyed. I have been wearing it in other places that I am in and out of though.
We all know the risks, we are all adults just worry about yourself and let others do what they want to do. We will soon be all told it is mandatory to wear them anyway.
As you will know education has been a nightmare for C, and as we now have an EHCP in place we can look at college for her. Yesterday we headed off to tour a local college, with me promising not to embarrass her in anyway. She did great and I will talk about this another time. We were told we did not have to wear masks, C kept hers on. Even when we were all wondering around outside in blazing heat she kept hers on. She was the only one and I love that she still has her independence streak and will not follow everyone else, something she has done since nursery. I was blown away, and now want to go there to have my hair done, have an Indian and a Starbucks.
Bad Customer Service
My husband suddenly decided we were getting a new car last weekend. He found one he liked and paid a deposit online, the following morning had an apologetic phone call the car was already sold and they would refund us. Still waiting on refund and no response to any contact made.
Now one thing I do expect from anywhere is good customer service. I worked in banking for over 13 years and it wa the first thing that we had to do was give good customer service. This has stayed with me and I am always polite and friendly to anyone who deals with customers, and even if I have to complain I always apologise first as it is not their fault. The same as I always make sure a manager knows if someone has gone out of their way to be helpful. I do not like being ignored and start to shout very loudly and use social media for this.
We have all been enjoying the lovely evenings and maybe enjoying our favourite tipple to relax and unwind after a busy day. I know school is out for Summer, but we still have work the following day. Which is why I was intrigued to try School Night . A low alcohol based spirit at 21% abv tasting every bit as delicious as our award winning worlds best London Dry Gin, but 50% less alcohol. You would not know it is 50% less alcohol and have already mentioned it to friends to try. It really is a great way to relax and unwind and get up the next day without feeling like you had a drink last night.
Everyone has been suffering in this heat, but those of us struggling with hot flushes as well are getting a real hard deal. As we do not have a lovely pool to sit in and cool down, I have found something that really has helped. Cooling scarves, they are scarves which you soak in cold water and wear around your neck to keep you cool. I got a mix of 5 for £8 on Amazon the other day and both myself and my husband have been using them. Do you have any tips to keep cool?
