I seem to have missed a week, and now have two weeks to catch up on in my weekly Diary Of A Menopausal Mum ā 14/02/2023. Plus I am writing this a day early, as am seeing my grandchildren tomorrow. I hope you have all had a good couple of weeks.

The Declutter

We still have the skip outside, which means I am still finding things to put on it. The de-clutter is finished and we have lots of room. We have also purchased extra storage which has made a huge difference. I keep walking around the house now looking to see if there is anything else I can put on the skip.
The Chirpster

In my last post, I mentioned that we were having a new addition to our home, and picking up this little pest that day. Well he has certainly been entertaining,
- The cage we ordered did not arrive, so after picking C and her friend up from college. We stopped at Pets At Home, to collect a cage. Came home and set it up.
- The following afternoon, C was in college and I was left in charge. I went in to see him, and opened his cage for something and he escaped. Did I panic, but got a spare perch and he hopped off the curtain rail and stayed on it until in his cage. C uses this method now to get him back in.
- C messaged me when I was doing dinner, one evening saying he was trying to escape. He could get his head through the bars of the cage. After another two attempts, with cooling racks around the bottom of the cage. We ordered a new cage with slightly smaller bars.
- He will let us put our hands in the cage to stroke him or he will perch on us.
- Saturday, I said to C we will try to get him to come to us when out of the cage. So with bribery of seed in my hand and a millet spray, I was able to coax him off the lampshade and he sat for ages. Before C had a go.
Getting brave
Yesterday, I was out with my husband and C messaged me with some photos of him sitting on her. He had chewed her hair, hoodie straps and earrings. Before moving onto her phone. He also has a right paddy if he thinks he is being ignored. He has also managed to suss out how to lift the door to open it, so we now have that secured.
He is so cheeky, and loves to know what is going on, he has certainly settled in very well.
More Piercings

As you know C suffers with ongoing migraines, which means she has them 24/7. She has GON injections which are starting to be not as effective. She now has an appointment for a new treatment. We had talked about a daith piercings as they can help with migraines. She decided that she wanted to try and today had it done. We have to go back in 2-3 months to have it checked and may change to a smaller piercing.
Busy, Busy, Busy

Apart from the declutter and the daily escapes of the chirpster. I have been busy with my Valentines posts. Dealing with family dramas, that somehow I get one of the kids ring me, have a go at me about one of the others. I told them I was going to bed the other day and turning my phone off.
I did get my new glasses, and they are a lot stronger, but stopped wearing them as they hurt the back of my ear so need to pop into the opticians to get them adjusted.
Tomorrow, I am seeing my grandchildren and can not wait for my Nanny cuddles. I hope you are all having a great week.
I was also asked if I would like to guest post for Pura, who I have worked with on a review and giveaway. You can find my guest post here.

I’ve never had a bird before, and it sounds like it could be interesting. Such a cute pet!
It is nice to have a bin to get rid of stuff. I am always cleaning out!
I have had budgies, and my parents had a cockatiel before I left home who was a right character. They may be small but have huge characters
It appears that you have a lot on your plate at the moment. Personally, I enjoy starting off the year with a decluttering session. It can be quite enjoyable!
I do love a good sort out and declutter
I love the idea of getting a little budgie, they seem so cute but with big personalities!
Honestly, I spend so much time chatting to ours or watching her, so cheeky and full of character
It sounds like the decluttering has gone really well.
The budgie sounds like a new addition to your home despite all of the drama he’s causing. hehehe He sounds like such a character. x
The declutter has gone great, and we found out the other day he is a she
We have had several budgies over the years and they make really fantastic pets, but are very clever and cheeky! Our first budgie was a nightmare with Christmas decorations and the tree!
We have had a few budgies and even cockatiels who are worse than budgies lol
Sounds like you are really busy. I always do a declutter at the beginning of the year. Such fun stuff. LOL.
I love a good declutter
I never knew piercings could help with migraines but that’s so cool because I love piercings. It looks really great on her. I hope the healing process is going well. The chirpster is adorable..reminds me of the little bird we had growing up. It was a lot of work but fun memories ^_^
The piercing either works or it doesn’t also a chance the piercing will reject and come out, so early days but worth a try
omg the Chirpster is the cutest ever!!! I wannnnnt!!! So cute! I would love to have one.
We have now found out he is a she, and she is too cute and I spend far too much time chatting to her
Great catch-up here. I did not know Daith piercings can help with migraines.
It is 50/50 whether they do but worth a try
You can’t beat a good declutter x
I agree
always great to see the grandkids
I always have issues with glasses fitting – they make my nose sore and headaches
Just had my Daughter in law message me for something different and they are asking when will I be there. I am popping down tomorrow to get them altered it is just behind one ear.
we are getting a skip soon over my mother in laws to help declutter over there, I do love a sort out. I hope the daith piercing helps, my other half suffers from migranes and its awful to see.
I love having a skip as it means you will be having a huge sort out. Hopefully the piercing will help they are horrible.
I have new glasses too but they always seem to hurt me when I first get them too. I may need a trip to opticians. ah, Chirpster is so sweet.
I need to get these sorted as they are just too uncomortable on one side
I so loving the chirpster! It looks like he is starting to adjust to you quickly!
Takes up far too much of my time, as I am always chatting, but found out yesterday the chirpster is a she
You sound busy busy busy. But having that skip sounds like a great idea. You want to fill it to get your money worth so what a great way to declutter.
Wow! What a cheeky bird. Donāt think I can have a pet thatās so cheeky and chews my stuff. I have two kids that do that already, haha
I do love getting a skip and then the challenge to fill it, I still have space in it and still looking. We found out yesterday the little chirpster is a she
