Diary Of A Menopausal Mum – 12/10/2022

Another week has passed and time for my weekly diary of a menopausal mum – 12/10/2022 post. This is where I share what has been happening in the past week. I am also incorporating blogtober, and todays theme is my favourite bloggers.

Table of Contents

College

college

C is loving college, the past few weeks she has been looking after the rodents. She has loved telling me about Daphne a naughty rat, who I have quite warmed to with her stories. Then there is Gandolf the hamster who she has fallen in love with.

She has now moved over to the exotics, and messaged to say they have blue dart frogs, scorpions, a tarantula called Dave and lots more. I would have to stand by the door.

I wrote a post for blogtober on mental health. C is struggling with her anxiety so much at the moment, driving her into college, she was barely talking and you could see she was struggling. I told her when I got home I would email into college and the welfare dept to see if they can help her. C also text me to say she has a telephone appointment for councelling in a few weeks. Hopefully this will help her.

Blogtober 2022

prompts forr blogtober

The prompt for blogtober today is my favourite bloggers. I have tons of favourite bloggers. The blogging community is very supportive, so am going to mention just a few.

  • Mels Fab Finds – Those of you who love to take part in giveaways will already know of Melanie. We have become good friends, and if she has not heard from me, or if she knows I am struggling she will message to check in on me. We are also both a ditzy as each other and can relate to the most silliest things we have done.
  • Life In A Breakdown – Another blogger you may know if you love entering giveaways. Sarah does so much for the Blogging community. Plus like C she suffers with chronic illness, knowing how this affects you. I admire how she keeps going.
  • MissLJBeauty – Another Blogger I admire is Laura. She is one of the nicest people I know. I do think she is mad though as has a huge love of biking in remote places. She also has two gorgeous dogs.

There are so many others, but these are the first three that came to my mind.

Drivers

I am very vocal when I am driving, but also courteous as well. But what is going on with drivers at the moment. I will give you an example of yesterday. All I did was drive C to college and come home and then pick her up and come home.

I had a car nearly drive into the side of me at the roundabout coming out of college. Cars thinking they did not need to stop at junctions and just keep going. A van so far up my boot that if I had slowed slightly he would have been a passenger. Also do drivers not read roads anymore, think they can go in a shorter queue at lights and realised it was shorter for a reason, and think they can just pull over to the other queue with no respect for other road users. I know I sound grumpy, but it is more about respect and safety to yourself and others.

Health

health

I recently mentioned that I haven’t been feeling right, I am cold and tired all the time. Plus a few other things that do not feel as I should. I went to see my GP, who wanted me to have a huge range of urgent blood tests, plus I need to fast as well as doing a diabetic check.

I have had to wait weeks, as apparently no appointments. Tomorrow morning I finally have my blood tests, so hopefully should find out what is going on. Fingers crossed could start to feel myself soon.

Last night, I fell asleep on the sofa at about 8.30, woke up and 10 and had a shower, then went to bed with a massive headache. This is so not like me.

I hop you have all had a lovely week

  1. So many people are struggling with their mental health at the moment. It seems to get worse at this time of the year, then lifts again in spring time. I love Laura and I featured her MTBLM blog, where she writes about mountain biking for women and girls. Have a great weekend

  2. The blogging community is definitely supportive for sure! Mental health is so important! Also I hope you feel better. It could just be the weather change affecting you too.

  3. I am happy to hear that your daughter has gotten settled into college. I do hope you get things sorted regarding your health.

  4. Sounds like a long week. Hope C feels better about her mental health. And I do agree about drivers, I have seen some bad drivers recently and always keep an eye out when I am at the roundabout

  11. Wow, those exotic critters sound… lovely LOL. I think I’d join you and stand by the door 🙂 Fab to see C is going to be getting help. It’s hard to watch as a mum, as you just want them to feel comfortable and happy in themselves. I’m a bit out of touch with the blog scene at the minute, so it’s been great to be able to dip into your highlighted bloggers list 🙂 #blogtober22 xx

    1. She is loving it showed me a photo of the frogs yesterday they are still not cute. It was a bit of a hard day yesterday, but a few emails and we are geting there

  12. HA! I received the form from my doc yesterday to get a mass of blood tests done – I have been struggling with exhaustion and some other issues and we can’t figure out why.

  13. I hope your bloodwork gives you the answers you need. And HOPEFULLY, those answers are to take more iron or something. Good luck!

  14. It sounds like C is really enjoying college. She is so brave caring for all of the animals and creatures. I hope the counselling can help C.
I love the blogs Mels Fab Finds and Life in a Breakdown. Sarah is a bit of a legend when it comes to blogging. She really is one of the nicest people.
Good luck at the doctors. I hope it goes OK. x
