I was recently contacted and asked if I would like to review Bright Barley dairy free drinks. As you may be aware we have recently put C onto a lactose free diet, and are avoiding dairy.
She has always loved milkshakes, and so far I had not had a chance to look for a dairy free option for her. So this came about at a great time.
About Bright Barley
The founder of Bright Barley is Jiali Jiang, who grew up surrounded by barley close to Tibet. Barley has played an important part in the Tibetan culture for many centuries. After moving to study at Cambridge University, she became aware that barley was grown here in the UK, but was being underused.
The Chocolate Bright Barley drink is rich and chocolatey and has a sweetness that is just right.
This was our favourite, C always has chocolate milkshake, so was the first flavour we tried. It took a few sips to get used to the taste but we found we enjoyed it.
The Salted Caramel Bright Barley Drink as it says on the packet if you love salted caramel you will not be disappointed with this flavour.
The Coffee Bright Barley Drink was probably the least favourite in our house, mainly because as much as I love coffee I have never been a fan of iced coffee, but did have a nice coffee flavour
Although it took a couple of tries, C did enjoy them, and definitely put a smile on her face. To be able to have and enjoy a milkshake again. If you are looking for a dairy free alternative this is definitely one to consider.
