Blogtober 2020 – Imagine

Blogtober 2020 - Imagine

Day 9 of the Blogtober 2020 challenge, today the theme is Imagine.  We all come out with imagine if…. that is natural.  But in all honestly I am a very lucky lady.  I am so happy with my life I have a man who makes me happy, kids who I adore, and my gorgeous grandchildren.

Through a job I love, and have met some amazing people along the way, who I am now happy to call friends.  I am able to work from home and be there for my Daughter and support her through her illness.

Imagine

So going back to Imagine.  Today I am going to talk about John Lennon’s song.

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today… Aha-ah…

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace… You…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world… You…

You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

With all that is going on in the world right now, wouldn’t it be great if we could all really read the words to this song  Take in what is being said, and all live together.  Peacefully and in harmony.

Like many others I really do not understand why we should be promoting black lives matter.  Not because I do not agree with it, but because we should not be having to do it, it should not be something that we have to fight for.  Shouting to make everyone equal.

What do you often wish for when you say imagine if ?

    1. It would be lovely, if everyone just put themselve and their family and friends first and cared about those around them instead of everything else it would be a much happier place

  1. So true and I agree 100%. That being said, I heard some years ago that John Lennon wasn’t really as much of an idealist as he was portrayed as through this song. Some protest singers of the time have even admitted that they did it for the money. Of course, John Lennon was killed in 1980, so we’ll never know. And we can all dream, right?

    1. It was the words of the song I was talking about. He probably did do it all for the money, and no one is as good as they portray in life

  2. This song is a song I feel like everyone needs to hear. I think during these crazy times, we need to come together, and that song serves as a reminder.
