“Should I get a boob job?” is a very common question for women. Not only will it be one of the biggest decisions of your life, but there are a lot of factors and choices to consider when opting for breast augmentation surgery.
Below are the top 5 things you should consider in helping you make the best decision that is right for you.
Table of Contents
The Risks

One of the most important things to consider when deciding to undergo breast augmentation is your health, as surgery can have risks and complications.
The most common risk is an infection, which may occur at the site of the incision or in the breast itself. Other possible complications include bleeding, scarring and capsular contracture (a condition where scar tissue forms around the implant).
There’s also a possibility that one breast will be bigger than the other or that one nipple will become numb after surgery.
It’s important that you understand all the risks associated with the procedure and accept that they are a possibility if you decide to undergo the procedure.
You Can Always Do More Research

Whilst the internet is great due to the plethora of information available. When it comes to breast surgery information, it may be too generalised and not specific enough for your individual goals.
To make an informed decision, it is best to consult with multiple surgeons where you can openly ask questions and receive knowledgeable answers.
You can also browse your surgical provider’s website and socials to see other people’s surgical testimonials and journeys that will be similar to yours.
Remember, it’s important to ask all the questions, no matter how small or silly!
Having Realistic Expectations Is Important

Having realistic expectations is important. You can’t expect a breast augmentation to make you look like Pamela Anderson as much as you may wish it would. It’s crucial that you understand the risks, benefits, and limitations of this type of surgery before making your decision.
You should also have a clear idea of what you want to achieve with your new breasts—whether it’s a subtle change or something more dramatic—and how much time you’re willing to commit towards maintaining that look through diet and exercise, among other things.
While the results will be visible immediately after surgery (as long as there are no complications), physical changes in your body take time to become permanent; therefore, it’s important to remember that any change in shape and size may not be permanent if lifestyle factors aren’t taken into account.
The emotional Change, As Well As Physical

Are you ready for the emotional changes that come with breast augmentation surgery?
This is a big decision. You will feel different about yourself and may need to make changes in your life.
You will also need to be patient with the recovery process, which can take several weeks or months, depending on how much swelling you have and how well you can follow through on your post-op instructions.
The aftercare is just as important as the surgery itself so having a solid emotional support group is essential to a healthy recovery.
Choosing The Right Person For The Job

After some research into understanding the risks, you may wish to meet with a doctor and get their professional opinion on what they can do for you.
You want to ensure that the surgeon you pick has the experience, skills, and knowledge required for this type of surgery. The best way to do this is by simply asking questions:
What are their credentials? Be sure your surgeon has all the necessary certifications (and if they still need to, ask why).
You should also inquire about how long they’ve been practising and what kind of reputation they have among other doctors in their field.
Asking about referrals from previous clients can also help; if others have had positive experiences with your surgeon, chances are yours will too!
Also, take note of what their office looks like? A clean office is usually a good sign—a cluttered one raises some red flags!

I don’t know why I can’t help but feel sorry for those who want breast surgery. I know it is a very insensitive thing to say because everyone should be entitled to doing something that makes them feel happier and more confident. But I guess I hope everyone can be happy with their body. Who defines beauty? Why aren’t we all beautiful? No one looks the same so why can’t we accept that we come in all different sizes. My kids are happy to leave the house with food on their face and morning hair so when do we start caring so much about what we look like, especially something that is covered up. It’s also the risk we’re putting ourselves through, a painful procedure that might not even give us the outcome we want. I know it is very narrow minded and selfish thing to say but I guess I just wish everyone can love themselves for who they are. Sorry if I offended anyone. It was not my intention.
It is something I would not consider, but we are all beautiful and should accept whaat nature has given us
I don’t think i could go through with it,I will only have an op for Health Reasons
Me too I said to my husband if I had to have them removed I would but would have to have reconsruction surgery
not something I’d ever considered – ti’s vital to do research first
I feel the same way
