Start Your Day The Right Way

It is six weeks until Christmas, this means we will be eating more indulgently. Which is why we need to look at how to start your day the right way.

Naked Pea

We all at times love a brunch or a good old fry up, especially after a heavy night the night before. But for me, I find starting the day with a healthier start does help me through the day. It also makes me feel a little better about myself.

Protein powders are an easy way to give your metabolism that boost it needs. Especially before a work out. This is made easier with the supermarkets full of protein products. But these come at a price that you can make yourself at home for a fraction of the price.

About Naked Pea -Pea Protein Powder

What I love about the Pea Protein Powder is that it is made from just one ingredient. Yellow Split Peas, that is it there are no additives or artificial sweeteners. Pea protein is easily absorbed by the body, making it an excellent plant-based alternative to whey protein.

Below are a few ideas how you can incorporate the start of your day the healthy way with Pea Protein Powders

Classic Naked Pea Protein Smoothie

Classic Naked Pea Protein Smoothie

A smoothie is always my go to ‘quick’ breakfast for those days I do not want to eat anything. The great thing is smoothies are so versatile and you can add what you have in

Blend together:

  • 1 scoop Naked Pea protein powder
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter or almond butter
  • 1 cup oat milk or almond milk
  • ½ tsp cinnamon – optional
  • A shot of espresso for a caffeine boost if needed – you should try it if you love iced coffees

Berry Boost Shake

Along with bananas we always have berries in the house. I also buy the frozen smoothie packs in the supermarket so we have those to hand if we have no fresh berries in. This is a slightly lighter smoothie to the one above.

Blend together:

  • 1 scoop Naked Pea
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen berries – blueberries, strawberries, or raspberries
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup – this is optional but adds a little more sweetness
  • ¾ cup coconut water or oat milk
  • A handful of spinach – this is optional and honestly you can not taste it

Protein Oats – Either Hot or Overnight Oats

Porridge Oats

A real comfort breakfast for me is porridge. For me it is for those lazy mornings when you want that bit of comfort. The great thing is you can either make them fresh and have hot or prepare the night before.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • 1 scoop Naked Pea
  • 1 cup milk – whichever you use
  • Dash of cinnamon or vanilla
  • Toppings – berries, chopped nuts, bananas literally anything you have

How To Make:

  • For hot oats, cook oats in milk as usual, then stir in protein powder at the end. Top with whatever topping you want

  • For overnight oats, mix all ingredients in a jar, refrigerate overnight, and enjoy cold in the morning.

Quick Blender Pancakes

banana pancakes

I could not help but finish with banana pancakes. I first learnt about these a few years ago and they make a perfect breakfast treat.

Blend

  • 1 scoop Naked Pea
  • 1 banana
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • Splash of milk

You cook them as you would a normal pancake. Cook each side until golden and fluffy and then serve topped with honey drizzled over, yoghurt, fresh fruit or whatever toppings you like.

Do you use Protein Powders? If so how do you have yours?
