Creative Activities For Mental Wellness

I am not sure if it is because we talk about it more now, so that we are more away. Or if more people are struggling these days. One thing I have found is talking about this has become much easier. If we are struggling, or have a family member or friend, it is not a taboo subject any more, Which is why today, I am sharing some creative activities for mental awareness.

Creative activities are a great way to improve mental awareness. They can help you to focus and think more clearly. They can also be a fun way to relax and de-stress. There are a variety of creative activities that you can try, such as painting, drawing, sculpting, or writing.

Make Your Own Candles

Making your own candles is a great fun way to relax, and even easier now you can buy candle making kits, at Love Ria. Whether on your own or as a group, it is a great way to add a personal touch to your home décor, and they make wonderful gifts for friends and family. Best of all, it’s a relatively inexpensive hobby. All you need are some basic supplies and a little bit of creativity. Plus you can have fun with different aromas, by using different fragrances and colours.

C and I have great fun making our own candles, after I received a candle making kit as a gift. It came with everything we needed. As we are huge fans of scented candles, we are loving trying out all the different fragrances.

Baking

I always find that baking helps me when I am stressed, or need to rethink things. Baking can be a great way to relieve stress and improve mental health. The process of measuring, mixing, and baking can help to focus the mind and provide a sense of accomplishment. Baked goods also make great gifts for friends and family. If you’re looking for a creative outlet that also has some benefits for your mental health, consider giving baking a try.

Art

One thing that has proven to help my daughter with her mental health is art. The above are a couple of her pieces, that she does on her ipad. It is great for her as she can pick it up and put it down depending on how she is feeling. Art has been shown to be beneficial for mental health. It can help reduce stress, improve mood, and increase self-esteem. It is also a great way to bond with family and friends.

Grow Your Own

Growing your own food, is great for your mental health. As you care for your plant from when you first pant the seeds, and watch and care as they grow. Plus when ready, there is nothing nicer than eating your own home grown food. You can use them in recipes when baking, give away to family and friends for them to enjoy.

Being aware of your own mental awareness is so important. We all suffer to some point, and knowing what helps us is important. I also find when out walking the dogs it is my place to think things through.

  1. I love all the stuff you suggested. Apart from candle making, I do find all those activities very therapeutic. When I was at my lowest I used to draw so much. It is harder with two young kids around the house but I do hope to get back to it. These days I’ve been baking a lot more to relive stress and we’ve been growing our own edible garden on our balcony. It’s so nice to see the tomatoes, fig tree and herbs grow. Nature helps a lot with relieving mental stress I find.

    1. I love making candles, waiting for them to be ready to light and fragrance the room. I can not draw at all, my daughter amazes me with her drawings, she gets her art side from her dad

  2. I honestly think life is a little harder these days than it was before so yes we do talk about it more but we are all finding things harder as life is so stressful isnt it. I find colouring helps with my stress levels, I love to bake too.
