Owning a small business is not easy, especially if you are trying to do it mostly on your own. It is important to stay on top of current trends so you know how to market your business, manage your finances, and automate your processes to make sure that you are helping your business grow as much as possible without sacrificing your personal life and time with your kids

Automation

Some of the things you are doing can be automated, and you should do that as much as possible. You can automate responses to email by coming up with a template that can be used over and over. If you have an email list, you can automate a lot of that as well.

If you haven’t already, then you need to make sure that your sales are automated as well. You shouldn’t have to handle each individual transaction. Setting up a way for customers to buy from you without having to contact you directly will save you a lot of time.

SEO Optimization

One way you can cut down on the time you spend in your business is to make sure that you are using optimised SEO strategies. SEO will help you attract the right customers and when it is done correctly, you will be able to do it without investing a lot of time.

Doing simple things like researching keywords to use in blog posts, using alternate text for your images, and creating tags so people can find articles easier will help you increase your SEO rating. You can even outsource some of these needs to an SEO Agency so you don’t have to figure it out all on your own.

Virtual Assistant

You may also want to hire a virtual assistant. You can usually hire one for less than you think, and you will soon see how invaluable they can be to your business. Hiring someone to handle all of the day-to-day aspects of your business will free up a lot of your time. You can use this time to focus on growing your business, big picture ideas, and spending more time with your family.

A virtual assistant can help you manage all the customer service needs you have, respond to emails or phone calls with vendors, and help you manage the list of things that needs to be done. They can also help you with your social media presence.

Make Priorities

You are never going to have enough time to do everything you think you need to do, so you need to make some priorities. Some things are more important than others, and that is where you need to spend your time. If you have automated and outsourced all the things you can, then you will have things left that are important for you to handle directly. Make sure your group those things together based on how immediate the deadline is and how important the task is. That will make it easy for you to see what needs to be done first instead of getting overwhelmed.
