Today is day 15 of the Blogtober 2023 challenge. Today the prompt is self care activities for stress relief. Below I am sharing a few ways to relieve stress.
Table of Contents
Deep Breathing

Practice deep breathing exercises to calm your nervous system. Inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four, hold for four, and exhale through your mouth for four.
Meditation

Spend a few minutes each day meditating to clear your mind and reduce stress. There are many guided meditation apps and videos available to help you get started.
Exercise

Engage in physical activity you enjoy, whether it’s jogging, swimming, dancing, or going for a walk. Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters.
Reading

Escape into a good book or magazine to relax and unwind. Get cosy in a comfy chair with a throw. Make a cuppa or indulge yourself with a hot chocolate. Treat yourself to some chocolate, did you know you can get cheap and free Hotel Chocolat.
Bubble Bath

Treat yourself to a warm bubble bath. It’s a great way to relax and unwind.
Spending Time in Nature

Spend time outdoors, whether it’s a walk in the park, a hike, or simply sitting in your garden. Nature has a calming effect.
Sleep

Prioritise sleep and establish a consistent sleep schedule. Quality sleep is crucial for stress relief and overall well-being.
Listening to Music

Listen to your favourite calming or uplifting music to shift your mood.
Setting Boundaries

Learn to say “no” when needed and establish healthy boundaries to prevent overwhelm.
What do you do to de-stress?

.It’s true, most of these things do help a lot with my mental health. I love being outdoors surrounded by nature. That probably calms me down the most. Sadly with kids it is difficult to place solid boundaries but we’ll get there one day
I do find walking and having the peace does help me process things
It is so important to look after ourselves. I always have a little time to myself each day even if it’s just sitting, relaxing having a coffee.
I always take time out even if it is just to sit and have a coffee
I do suduko puzzles and eat chocolate when I need to destress!
Eating chocolate does help but I have to be careful these days
Boundaries is a huge part of how to look after yourself. Good list. #Blogtober
I totally agree and you feel much better for it
really does help mental wellbeing – some days it’s harder than others
I take one day at a time
