Ramblings Of A StressedMum -21/06/2023

Another week has flown by, which means it is time for my weekly Ramblings Of A StressedMum -21/06/2023 post. It has been another roller-coaster week. Hope you have all had a great week.

Health

health

I recently shared that I have diabetes, I was doing so well, until end of last week. As, I had to increase my medication last Tuesday to 2 tablets a day. I started feeling unwell, to the point I was in bed doubled up all weekend. So, I stopped taking them on Saturday as they made me feel really ill.

I had a telephone appointment, and spoke to a Dr and explained I could not take them, and could they prescribe something different. My Mum can not take these either. She said she could, so I went to the chemist to pick them up. They were the same medication, but slow releasing. The pharmacist said to try as they may help. I took the full dose Monday and yesterday felt worse. I ended up with a telephone appointment, as I felt too ill to go face to face. It was with the main Dr in our surgery, who you never get to see, and also the one who deals with diabetes. He was lovely and I am going back on the original medication but just one tablet a day. But to come off if they make me ill. I have an appointment with him in a couple of weeks to see him.

The Chirpster

chirpy

I have not updated on our little vulture recently. She is doing well, cheekier than ever and very opinionated. She loves watching Tik Tok videos, especially one budgie which she will sit and watch, for ages. A couple of weeks ago, C thought I had gone mad as, I thought she had spoken. She was copying her little budgie on Tik Tok. As she is starting to do it more, so hopefully we may have a talking budgie.

She is a nightmare when out of her cage, and I go in to see her. She comes straight to me. One of her favourite places is perching on my glasses, or swinging in my hair.

A New Addition

babies

These are Chirpys siblings, who are 3-4 weeks old here. We are apparently having one, I think the one C wants is in the front as it is blue and grey. They have been moved away from their mum as she was pulling their feathers from their head. So may be a bit bald as not sure if the feathers will grow back.

I now have to buy a bigger cage, which C has sent me the link too. Not sure when we will be getting our new arrrival yet so watch this space.

Muse

concert

On Sunday, I am heading to Milton Keynes with my husband and C. As we are seeing Muse in concert, this is also part of her christmas present. She is so excited and has been counting down for ages.

What I Am Loving

Pukpip

pukpip

If you have been looking for something to cool you down in this weather. Pukpip’s frozen bananas dipped in chocolate are the ideal blend of whole, unprocessed fruit with a hint of indulgence. They combine nature’s own ice cream (frozen bananas!) with heavenly milk or dark chocolate to create the perfect balanced snack. Pukpip’s bananas are freshly frozen ensuring that all their goodness remains intact, then they’re coated in delicious, ethical milk or dark chocolate creating a perfect snack, treat or dessert for you and the family.

We have enjoyed trying these, especially for me, as they are a better option for me. These will be kept in stock in my freezer.

FUL Intense Moisture Hair Mask

Hair masks

One product I love to use is hair masks. Once a week I give my hair some tlc with my favourite shampoo and then use a mask. Recently, I have been having issues with my scalp and the itching, which I now know is due to health and my diabetes.

I have been trying FUL Intennse Moisture Hair Mask. The mask is a nourishing and thirst quenching mask with a pH formula for ultimate hair hydration.

As I colour my hair, I like to give it a treatment once a week. I now only use a hairdryer and straighteners when I am going out. I wash my hair as normal, give it a quick towel dry and come through the mask. Leave for about 10 minutes then rinse.

Giveaways

I hope you have all had a good week.
