Another week has passed, and we have reached Wednesday again, and yes I am writing this on Wednesday and hopefully will be posting today as well. With that said time for me to share my week and Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 17/06/2026.

My Week

Health
I will start with my Dad, we are now in the third week of radiotherapy. Wednesdays he also has blood tests and sees one of his cancer nurses to see how he is getting on. He also sees speech therapy and dieticians during the week.
Honestly, it is like dealing with a child. Yesterday he said he had not been doing his steaming and also that he had no pain. He said he would do this, then today said he is in some pain and he had not been doing his steaming. The only way to get him to do things is, me saying if he does not do as he is asked to do, then I am not putting myself out and driving him to and from the hospital every day. This usually works, even though he knows I would still take him.
C is struggling with not being on anything for her migraines, luckily we have a neurology appointment next week. Although I do not think I am going to like the outcome it may be what is needed.
I have spoken about how my health has been suffering, one side is my diabetes and after discussing options with my Dr. I decided to go on the Mounjaro. I had my appointment yesterday with the nurse who talked me through everything. Hopefully this will work and help me with not having to take medication daily. So far so good and no side effects
Fathers Day

This Sunday is Fathers Day, if you have not found the perfect gift for your Dad my Fathers Day Gift Guide has been updated with some great gift ideas.
This Sunday will be emotional for C, who is struggling a lot at the moment. I have made a donation to charity and they have a dedicated memorial page for us to leave a message,. We will also get a helium balloon to tie next to his rose bush in the garden and we are all going out for a meal on Sunday to raise a toast.
For my Dad, I have got him some tops and wine and taking him out for a meal. That is the plan, but it does depend on how he is feeling on the day as he is having intense radiotherapy on his face and mouth.

The World Cup bag looks so much fun. We have enjoyed decorating the house for football season.
It is lovely seeing all the football decorations
I hope Mounjaro helps you. I have a friend who is on it and she is doing well. It will be a tough day for C on Sunday.
Thank you, got through my first week. Sunday was awful on so many ocassions
I am so glad to know that you don’t have any side effects for your new diabetes medication. I completely agree that football is one event that is close to many people’s hearts.
So far so good, everyone is loving the football
It sounds like you are having such a frustraiting time! Lots of hospital visits, no real progress.
Honestly it has all been a nightmare
I hope mounjaro works for you and your diabetes. I started taking it a few weeks ago, albeit for very different reasons and it’s been game changing for me. I hope C’s appointment gives you both some answers x
I am at my first week now, and it is amazing the effect it has although have had a few sick feeling moments. We have C’s appointment on Wednesday
Sending C love for this Sunday – I know it will be a tough one. It is the first anniversary of my brothers death this week which also coincides with Fathers Day so I am thinking of my nephews a lot at the moment.
Hope your Dad starts doing what he is meant to soon, I find Dads can be quite stubborn!
Thank you, and thinking of you with your Brothers anniversary as well. It was a tough day for more reasons than is needed
I really hope all of the hospital appointments go well for you all – it certainly is a tough time for everybody and takes its toll. Just remember what a great job you are doing looking after so many people. Take care of yourself.
It would be easier if times did not keep being changed, but half way through thankfully. C is the one worrying me more at the moment
Sorry to hear it has been another tough week. Really hope the neurology appointment can offer some relief to C
She has her neurology next week, which we are pinning everything on as she really is struggling
WOW, you really have a lot going on and I’m sending many hugs your way. I hope you get a chance to have some me time away for a moment, that kind of stress is no good for the body
Honestly, at the moment it is just the odd hour here or there. I am shattered and am getting quity snappy but that is because both my parents keep putting their head in the sand and I am giving so much to help them and it is like they do not care
I’m hopeful you and your daughter’s health improves soon. It’s been too long with no relief for both of you!
Honestly it is C I am worrying about the most, she is struggling a lot and it is so hard to watch and not be able to do anything to help
I hope Mounjaro helps you. I’m happy to hear you’re having no side effects. I hope your daughter can find some relief soon.
Thank you, it was a huge decision and I did not take it lightly, but so far apart from the odd feeling of nausea I seem to be ok. C is worrying me but we cannot do anything until next week
I just checked the bagkraft link. This is such a cool way to engage with the worldcup games. That is awesome. Super love the idea.
I love the BagKraft world cup set and a great way to celebrate England winning last night
