Following on in my Meet The Blogger series, today I am introducing you to Sarah who blogs over at Sincerely Essie.
Meet The Blogger – Sarah
TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?
I’m Sarah, a proud mummy to a little girl, freelance writer and occasional photographer. In my spare time, you can find me obsessing over stationery and getting creative with lettering & calligraphy!
WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING?
I started my blog in August 2018 to document my pregnancy and subsequent arrival of my beautiful baby girl. I also wanted to create a positive community for women to share their life experiences on my blog.
HAS YOUR BLOG CHANGED SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED?
I originally planned on documenting my life as a first time mum, but then realised it would be much more interesting and fun to create a community for women and let various individuals post on my blog to share their experiences on different topics such as lifestyle, health and parenting.
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FUNNIEST MOMENT SINCE STARTING YOUR BLOG?
My funniest moment was reading a guest post by a blogger on what to expect after pregnancy. It was something I could relate to and I loved the author’s humourous tone!
WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR WORST MOMENT SINCE STARTING YOUR BLOG?
Setting up the blog and choosing a theme has to be the worst, as I don’t particularly enjoy the technical side of blogging!
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A NEW BLOGGER STARTING OUT?
Organise yourself! Blogging requires a lot of work, so staying on top of all your tasks is essential.
WHAT SURPRISED YOU ABOUT BLOGGING THAT YOU DID NOT REALISE BEFORE YOU STARTED?
Linking on from my last point, a lot of work goes into blogging – it’s not just a case of writing and uploading! There’s editing, taking photos, optimising content for SEO & more!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
I like to spend time with my little girl, obsess over stationery and get creative with lettering & calligraphy!
IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY WHAT WOULD YOU DO FIRST?
The first thing I would do is to donate a portion to charity! I truly believe giving to charity only makes you richer – not physically but spiritually.
WHO IS YOUR BLOGGING HERO AND WHY?
Jemma from Dorkface blog is my blogging hero as she has built her brand from scratch and she works super hard on her art work and creating interesting blog posts!
