Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 55

Life In A Lockdown Linky - Week 55

You will not need an introduction into my weekly Life In A Lockdown post, as here we are in week 55.  I still can not fully understand how a year ago we had no idea how our lives would change so much.  Hopefully, we are now all moving forward and putting the past year behind us.

If you want to take part in the linky the questions are

1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I am feeling really good at the moment, it was my birthday on Friday and was very spoilt.  Even enjoying a meal out with friends and a drink or two in a pub garden.

I also had a phone call on Friday morning, that made my birthday even better and the best present I could have asked for. The previous week, I had emailed the co-ordinator who was dealing with C’s EHCP, and asked if it had gone back to panel yet or if we were still waiting.  Friday I had a phone call saying it had not gone to panel and she had just come out of a meeting with her manager.  She spoke about our appeal and spoke of our last meeting and if she could get a it approved without waiting for the panel meeting.  It was agreed so we won and have our EHCP, we now have to wait for it to come through which should take a week or two.  That really was the best birthday present I could have wished for.

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

I have had a great time, met up with friends had drinks out and a meal out, it was great just doing something that we would not have thought twice about a year ago.

3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?

I think it is my post on dog obesity, as a huge animal lover I know how easy it is to over feed our dogs.  Mine boys have their I am hungry and look how cute I am faces very well perfected.  The kindest thing we can do for our dogs is feed them a healthy diet.

4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?

We have already had a drink and meal out, and met up with friends which was amazing.  Am hoping to get away for a bit at some stage

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)

Hair straighteners, mine have vanished and I have not been able to find them. As we have been in lockdown I have not been using my hairdryer or straighteners and giving my hair a rest.  I wanted to use them when we went out last week and I could not find them.  So spent some of my birthday money on new ones that I got at a bargain price

6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

Spending time out enjoying friends and family

7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?

Never take life for granted, be grateful for the little things

8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Keep on going, take one day at a time and we will get through this

Thank you to

  3. We are doing okay, even if it seems like this pandemic will drag on forever. I am happy though that there are community pantries sprouting up everywhere. People helping other people is such a heartwarming sight to see.

  4. Glad you’re feeling positive at the moment and that you had a lovely birthday 🙂 I’m thinking of buying some new straighteners as I want to curl my hair more, and mine aren’t good for that.

    1. I am feeling positive at the moment after so long of having to fight. I loved my last pair of straighteners and am hoping these are just as good, I got them half price as well which was even better

  5. I am so glad you managed to get Caitlin’s EHCP and on your birthday too, such a lovely surprise! Sounds like a fairly good week.

    1. I know when she emailed to say she was just going in a meeting and would ring me after, I just thought it was to say they are still waiting for it to go to panel. I could not believe she told me she had got it approved without going to panel, it really was the best present I could get

  6. That’s great news about C’s EHCP, you must have been so happy about the news. What a way to make your birthday even more special x

    1. Thank you, although we have been fighting it for so long, I really was not expecting to hear that and especially on my birthday x

  7. I didn’t actually go anywhere last week other than my local card shop which was so good to see open again. Everyone just look so much happier and I saw them all sitting outside restaurants. It was so nice to see some normality and happiness on everyones faces.
