Life In A Lockdown Linky Post – Week 48

As you will all know Tuesday is my Life In A Lockdown linky post, and we are now in week 48.  At last we are starting to hear positives coming through, and not sure about you but it certainly has cheered me up.

If you are interested in joining in the linky the questions are below.

The questions

1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I am in a very mixed mood at the moment, so much so I had a meltdown to my Mum yesterday. I think everything is just getting to me now and I needed to let it out.

Our middle child has caused a lot of drama and upset, which is now hopefully sorted.  It did not help that he would not reply to me or if he did it was one word answers.  Asked him to ring and got why? He knew what we wanted to talk to him about as well.

We are still fighting for C’s EHCP, I had a lovely meeting with our MP on Friday morning.  He was shocked but not surprised at what we had been through.  He is totally backing us, also yesterday our legal lady got in touch and is ready for the fight again.

We did have some good news, as C is now 17 her DLA switches to PIP.  It kept getting delayed due to COVID, but when assessed she was awarded 0 points.  We appealed it and the re-assessment was not enough points, so appealed again pointing out all the inconsistencies.  Last Thursday we had a phone appointment with an appeals officer, she listened and we were awarded care and mobility.

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

Pretty much the same as every week, as well as the above we are still finishing off our bedroom and bathroom which are starting to look amazing.

Last week, I also visited my granddaughters the youngest is 3 months old and had only seen her once.  My Nanny cuddles were just what I needed, along with being entertained by my 3 year old granddaughter.

3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?

Normality, I new it is still a few months away but at least we can start to plan to see friends and family again.  Look forward to going out as well.

4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?

How much we really took daily life and freedom for granted, how missing seeing our family and friends would make us feel.  The vulnerability you feel just popping to the shops.

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

A tap for our bathroom sink, the one we ordered had no fittings with it and trying to get the company to understand has been challenging.  So we decided to just get a new one.

6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?

Technology, not only for keeping in touch with my family.  I also use it for shopping and top up shops, which means I do not have to pop out to the shops for top ups.

7) What is something your readers might not know about you?

I really can not think of anything at the moment, am sure there is a ton of things

8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

My family and friends, technology I love my FaceTimes, coffee and chocolate

Thank you to

So glad to hear you got to see the new addition and have cuddles too! 🙂 I’m still shocked with are now 345 days into all of this, so much time has been lost but cuddles certainly make up for it! 🙂
Good to hear that all the appeals worked in the end and you managed to get C sorted! Once you have finished the bedroom and bathroom do you fancy doing mine? I’m struggling to muster up the energy, I detest painting! Sim x

Sounds like you have had a tough week, hope things only get better. I’ve had a wobble too this week and I think schools opening next week will be quite a relief for me to get back to some sort of normality
