Life After Lockdown – Week 70

Y0u will have seen last week that we have altered the linky slightly, and renamed it Life After Lockdown.  Where each Tuesday we will be answering a new set of questions and sharing how life has been the past week.

It is never too late to join, why not take part in the linky and add it to the linky on Sarah or Rebecca’s page which is linked at the bottom of this post.

1. How are you feeling/coping?
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

week 70

1) How are you feeling/coping?

Very up and down at the moment, C had her Neurologist appointment on Thursday which was reverted back to a telephone appointment.  She has agreed to try the injections for her migraines so just waiting on an appointment to come through.

As you may have seen in recent posts, I have been suffering lately, on Friday I had my third Dr appointment, this time an extended hours one.  He was outraged that I had not had a face to face appointment and still suffering.  All he could say was take paracetamol and speak to my Dr on Monday and if it gets bad go to A&E.  Yesterday I rang my Dr, had this lovely Dr ring me, refused  to see me to take swabs and gave me a number for the hospital, which would get me an appointment in two weeks.  She has resent a scan request now marked as urgent and prescribed me new things to try.

Also, C’s education saga continues, I had an email saying that the co-ordinator had a meeting with the person taking over C on Friday.  So me being me, emailed back with a host of questions I am trying to get answers for.  I ended up having a lovely conversation and a few new things thrown in as well.  We have a meeting this afternoon to meet her and discuss further.

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?

It seems to be very medical last week, and trying to deal with making sure C has her education in place for September.  As I keep mentioning to them we only have a few weeks to go now.

The other day I was sitting working away, when my husband said did I fancy a Krispy Kremes.  Never one to refuse, off we headed, returning with a mixed dozen.

3) What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?

It is a very strange time, but how supportive people are to each other and how having your face mask and hand sanitiser became as having your keys and phone with you.

4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?

Be respectful, give space to others whether you choose to wear a mask or not, it is y0ur decision (unless asked), don’t worry about what other people are doing

5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?

I think it has to be my review on My Picture.com as I love the items and the quality, but the smile on C’s face when she saw her artwork printed.

6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

My friends and family and Krispy Kremes

7) What has made you smile this week?

Pictures popping up on my Facebook Memories of the kids when they were younger

8) Anything else you would like to mention?

You may have seen my recent poll I started on Twitter and Facebook, about getting a Doctors appointment.  It seems that it is getting harder and harder to see someone now, and they just go on what you tell them.  I want to highlight this to my MP as I know it is not just my area or surgery.  If you have not already seen the poll can I ask you to quickly click your answer

The facebook memories can be great. I’ve had a fair few with my kids too. They’re such a great idea. It’s nice to have the reminder of things you’ve done in the past.

I agree, we all need to respect each other and give space. I was at the supermarket today and say some wearing mask and others not, it is their decision in the end. Hope C feels much better soon.

I have given up with what others are doing, I used to be if I am wearing my mask so should they, but I just don’t care anymore life is too short to worry about others, just do what is right for you

We had a meeting with a lovely lady yesterday who is now our point of call for C’s education, C broke down during the meeting but she needed to and it showed just how messed up all this has made her. Everything is now changing but all in a positive way

It is still such a strange time isn’t it? I know what you mean about going backwards and forwards for doctors appointments – it is so hard to actually see someone isn’t it?

It is difficult to see a dr now, I do understand that phone appointments are useful, I admit I was relieved C’s appointment was changed as I hate trying to park at the hospital, but we should still be able to see our GP I even asked on Monday if I could have a face to face as I am worried and my symptoms are getting worse and told no

I’ve been having problems getting a physio appointment and had 2 via the phone which have been totally useless.

A physio appointment over the phone I have heard it all now, it is getting ridiculous and I understand initial phone appointments but some things you need to see face to face

So true! People need to go about their days and not worry so much about what others are doing. Great insight!

I really hope the injections work for C it can’t be nice having migraines all the time, I went through a phase in my teens when I had them badly but seemed to grow out of them.

My friend has had them but suffers two types of migraine and it works for one of hers. I am on a Facebook group for IIH which is what she has and it seems a very positive thing. It was totally her decision all we said was after I had told her about my invesitgations into it, that it is worth a try as if it works it will be great
