Life After Lockdown Linky – Week 81

Here we are in week 81 of Life After Lockdown.  From the beginning of lockdown I have been taking part in a linky where we answer questions of how the past week has been.  Originally in lockdown, and now after lockdown.

As you know Sarah and Rebecca run this linky, unfortunately they will not be taking part this week.  I am going to keep up the linky and would be lovely for them both to see others take part.

How has your week been? Read on to see how my week has been.

For those wanting to take part the questions are

1. How are you feeling/coping?
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?
frustration

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I am getting so wound up over C’s education, we should have found out last Wednesday if she was on the course, and the details for starting.  I chased on Wednesday and Friday and we still have no news.  It is affecting her mental health as she just wants to be normal and have an education.  This is the side of chronic illness that others do not see and just one of the many battles we have to face.

I have my follow up appointment this week for my health problems, and also have additional problems now which I am hoping is hormonal and I do not have to go through Dr referrals and mammograms so soon.

Also, have a virus that my husband has lovingly passed onto me, so trying to stay away from C as much as I can.

 2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?

I got tickets for us to go to a comedy club locally, which was originally booked for September, but rescheduled for last Wednesday, the main act was Romesh Ranganathan, who was trying out new material. We had a great time and was lovely doing something different.

I have also been trying to sort C’s 18th birthday, plus I have my two granddaughters birthdays one will be 4 and the other 1.

3) What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?

Life can change so quickly, and we went from living with no restrictions to becoming aware of those around us and our surroundings.  Use hand sanitiser, wear masks be aware of your own health as well.

4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?

Always carry a mask and hand sanitiser, use the hand sanitiser more than you would usually think too.  Also give others space and just be respectful.

5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?

You will probably have noticed I was quite quiet last week, I am really struggling physically and emotionally at the moment.  I have been reading posts and read some great posts but you know me my mind has gone blank

6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

My bed I am feeling so rough I have been staying in bed working on and off and sleeping lots

7) What has made you smile this week?

My dogs they are so different but both so funny definitely help keep your spirits up

8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Stop panic buying, yes shelves will be empty if you keep panic buying.  But carry on as normal and the shelves won’t be empty.

Thank you to

I worked in London over the weekend, surrounded by lots of people at an event. I am still pretty cautious but it did feel nice to just have a very “normal” couple of days

It does make you think more when in crowded areas, which before all this we never thought twice about

I thought once my boys went off to higher education life would be quieter. WRONG!! I’ve had a mad week running round after them but at least that meant I got to spend extra time with them.

Believe me even when they are adults with their own children it is never quiet, and they always need you for something

I was in Birmingham last weekend shopping and it was so busy,. You do think more now and with so many cases in the schools too. Life seems to go up and down even more.

It seems life has gone back to normal, but covid is still staying strong, I really can see us going into a lockdown again. I just hope they don’t do it over Christmas and separate families again

I can’t believe they are still stringing you along re C’s education. It’s a big failure on their side and such a shame as it will really impact her. I hope they figure it out soon and let her get on with learning. Hope you feel better soon xxx

It has been a nightmare, yesterday I was on a mission I emailed the boss who is considering C’s appliction, plus found out we should have a SEN Co ordinator. I had no idea we had one, and after a lot of emails where I also emailed the SEN department, found out who it was, and we do know her and she has met C. So I emailed her to see if she can help but so far heard nothing. It is affecting her mental health as all she wants is education in a class environment and just shows how badly those with an illness are treated as opposed to those who have no illness

He is funny and great hearing his new material for his tv show, and seeing what worked and what didn’t

I was in London the other week and it was so, so busy, especially around Chinatown and Covent Garden. It’s like the pandemic didn’t happen. I am so annoyed that many people have stopped wearing masks.

it is crazy isn’t it, we went to London last year during the eat out to help out campaign and everywhere was like a ghost town, move on a few months and it is like nothing happened

The panic buying is so annoying. Going grocery shopping has become a bit of a pot luck, as half of the things are always completely cleaned off the shelves.

I know, although I get mine delivered and have been lucky that most of my shopping arrives, but hear from so many others that it is getting stupid with the panic buying. If we all stopped listening to the media and carried on as normal there would not be this problem

It is a complete nightmare, I finally heard from her SEN co ordinator yesterday who apologised and chased, but still nothing. The course is supposed to start 2nd November so just over a week, unless that has changed as well. I am sure we will still enjoy the birthdays x

I hate waiting as well, but this is for college, she was let down with education due to illness and 2 years to get this far, I hope you get the choice you made,
