Well we made it through another week, and we are rolling into the weekend. It is time for me to write my weekly round up post of what has been going on and what I have been loving this past week.
I mentioned last week, that C had her assessment for the course she is wanting to do, and we would hear shortly. Well, we have still not heard anything, so no idea what is happening. She had a meeting with her support this week, and another planned for next week, where she will chase them if we haven’t heard anything.
I also talked about C’s mental health a little more last week, and how she really needed counselling. One of my oldest friends, has trained as a counsellor and C finally agreed to talking to her, when she realised it would be confidential and she would not tell me anything.
They had their first chat on Tuesday, and C said it went well. I chatted to her after the session and said what they talk about is between them, if she wants to talk to me about it, I am always here but I will never ask her what was discussed. She did tell me that my friend had told her a funny story of when we worked together at a Building Society, and we had this man come in about 10 minutes before closing on a Friday, trying to do a robbery. I will have to share it at some stage but you really do need the scene set
Birthdays and Christmas
I have been working on my Christmas Gift Guides and have some great gift ideas this year. Alongside this, I am starting to get C’s birthday sorted as she is going to turn 18 in November, and due to everything she has been through want to make it special. We have a family meal planned, and I want her to have 18 gifts to open and I am hoping to do a guide on 28th birthday gift ideas as well. Apart from C’s 18th, I have my granddaughters first birthday 2 days after and then her sisters at the end of November.
What I have been loving this week?
You may have seen my recent post, where I was chatting about how we our loving our firepit. We have been lucky this year to be able to sit outside longer in the evenings with the fire pit keeping us warm. One thing I do not like during the day is sitting in direct sunlight, which is why I have been loving my Lakeland Parasol, that I was kindly gifted. I can easily position to keep me shaded depending on where I sit. Sadly we got this a little later in the summer, and it is now tucked away ready to bring. back out next year. But will be taking full advantage of it next year.
Laugh or I will cry
As you are aware, I am having a few health problems, and after 6 telephone appointments, I was finally seen, and told they would do a hospital referral, which they did a week later. I had my appointment through this week, for the 12th January. I am so glad I went private now as I seriously could not wait that long
One last thing – smear testI had a text from my GP Surgery yesterday morning to book my , I rang straight away and have mine booked for next week. When you receive your invitations through, please make sure you book yours. I know so many people who put it off, and no one likes having them but they literally take minutes and could be life changing.
