Wow that was a fast week, I can not believe it is time for another weekly round up post in diary of a menopausal mum. Hope you are having a good week, and surviving the school holidays.

Education

C left her course last week, another chapter finished. I asked her how she felt and she said excited, as in less than a month is enrolment to college. She left her course passing all her exams, and we are so proud not just of passing them. But how she coped.
On 1st September she is off to enrol and start a new chapter.
Driving Lessons

Last week, I mentioned about driving lessons. Today, I went back online and have booked some lessons for C starting next Monday.
We wanted her to drive an automatic, as easier for her with her illness. Plus due to my husbands knees we have automatic cars as well.
As I type this my husband is looking for a little car for her, so that he (I refuse) can take her out between her lessons.
My Disaster

Yesterday, I shared about what goes through my mind that I think are great ideas. Following on from the blinds, I decided to use no nails to fix the curtain rail. ( I have not gone mad you will need to read previous post). Telling my husband I can do it, off I went to do my thing with C assisting me.
All I can say is, never get your hands covered in the stuff, it took me ages, using all sorts of things to try to wash it off. But the rail has stayed up when we put it up.
Mediterranean Diet

A couple of weeks ago, C was saying she wants to try the Mediterranean Diet. She has been reading up on diets to help with her illness. It seems that it helps with Fibromyalgia.
She has been on it for two weeks now, and trying so many different things. Preparing her own meals, and watching me help her with new recipes. I think she is enjoying it, and she comes out shopping with me for what she wants
Hay Fever Relief

If you suffer with Hay Fever, you will know how miserable it can be. Antihistamines can help, but now there is an alternative. I have been using this and it does help.
By using the principles of ancient Chinese acupressure have been used for centuries to help treat the symptoms of allergy, including hay fever.
hay-band works by applying pressure to the acupressure point on either arm, called the LI-11 point. Acupressure is believed to increase the flow of natural energy through the stimulation of various pressure points and in doing so, help unblock energy pathways to the nose and throat, and promote wellbeing.
The LI-11 point can be found at the end of the crease at the elbow. Once located, simply slide a hay-band into position so that the button faces inwards over the pressure point, with the bands passing either side of the elbow.
The band is fast-acting and may be worn on either arm or if symptoms are acute, one can be worn on both arms. Drug-free, natural and discreet, hay-band can also be worn as a preventative. There is no drowsiness or other unwanted side-effects and the band is suitable for adults and children over the age of three, but not suitable for use during pregnancy.
hay-band costs £11.99 per (washable) band and is available online from hay-band.co.uk.
Next Week

Next week, I may be quiet and not posting much, as from Tuesday I have my C mini me staying for a few nights. Honestly, she is just the same as C and I will get no peace. I also get to have cuddles with my littlest munchkin who is having some one on one time with mummy. I may need a supply of coffee or wine or vodka to keep me going. C may feel the same, as she is sleeping in with her, they have a huge bond and adore each other.

A Mediterranean Diet sounds wonderful, lots of wonderful colours and tastes. I need to invest in one of these Hay-Bands!!
She is loving the diet and doing so well, even I am loving what she deecides forr her meals
Grew into hay-fever about 15 years ago will give these a go with my current medication ( if suitable)
It is horrrible for sufferers, and great that there is something that is not medical that can work
Well done to C with her course and good luck to her at college and with the driving.
hehehe! Your DIY does seem like a bit of a disaster getting your hands covered but it’s good news that the rail has stayed up.
Have a great week next week. x
We went about got her a little car yesterday, so she can drive between lessons as well. I am a nightmare with diy haha, but curtains have stayed up which is the main thing.
I am so happy for C. Can’t believe she’s going to college soon, driving and making her own meals. She’s all prepared to be a young adult.
And all the best with mini C. I’m going for double shots in my coffee recently. This heat plus two active kids is draining me so quickly.
I never thought we would get here but we have, I can’t stop smiling as so happy for her, although feel a bit redundant now.
My husband asked how long she was staying last night and groaned haha, he adores her though
My hayfever has got so bad lately,i was ok till caught covid in may, whilst in Portugal
Oh no, maybe try this it might help
It’s a great idea for your husband to be taking her out as well as the lessons, as driving lessons are so expensive. When my eldest son was learning I spent a lot of time with him practicing roundabouts as he initially found them very difficult
He is going to take her out, and when I need to go out she is going to drive, I am a terrible passenger and will have to sit on my hands not try to brake and keep my mouth closed
