My Dads side of the family our a family of Bakers, my Dads generation being the last in keeping the tradition going. My generation all went on to different careers. Which is why when I was asked if I would like to review a subscription box from Bake2Explore.
As mentioned above, I have grown up around Bakers, and make bread myself. Usually asking my Dad a question or two along the way. Plus always getting told off with how I knead my bread. Flatbreads is something I have not really made before, so was intrigued to have a go.

About Bake2Explore

The founder of Bake2Explore is Leila, a trained human rights lawyer, who was born in Tehran before migrating to London. Who is now sharing her heritage, culture and love of food through her world food subscription boxes and DIY bread making kits. The kits are created with the finest organic ingredients that are sourced locally with a cultural heritage.
Leila’s travels and experiences prompted her to take the leap to start her very own business, in her own words
“Having that urban experience with culturally diverse communities allowed me to explore cultures and flavours mainly through food. By growing personally and professionally I became more socially and environmentally aware, developed mindfulness, learned and valued the power of community and independent female-founded businesses. Also living miles away from my family, made me more and more grateful to be surrounded by friends and my interactions with the local communities.
I have always been fascinated by the world of entrepreneurship and independent local businesses. Also, I am a food and bread lover, and mindful eater living in a culturally and culinary diverse city. I grew up with the aroma and taste of flatbread, bought fresh daily from local bakeries. I thought I should combine these two passions of mine to start sharing my stories and cultural roots in the region that I am more familiar with food culture.”
Taboon Making kit

I was sent the Taboon Making Kit to review, and share with you all. The kit comes with everything you need to make your flat breads, with step by step easy to follow instructions and a little information about the flatbread. With all this to hand C and I set work to make our very own Taboon Flatbreads.

Sadly, we forgot about taking photos of the finished result, and as they were so fresh and tasted amazing they did not last long. This is what the finished version should look like. Although our effort was not round but that makes them more rustic.

Our Opinion
C and I have always loved baking together, from when she was a little toddler up to now. It is the one place we can chat, laugh and have fun. We both loved making the flatbreads and I let C take the lead, although she let me do the baking of them. Which only take a few minutes in a hot oven, but you need to make sure you do not over bake and know when to get them out. For a teen this takes precious minutes away from talking to friends online.
We both agreed it was a great kit, and something different as well.
Great for gifts
Alongside the subscriptions boxes you can also order gift cards and workshops. These are a great gift idea for someone who has everything or wanting something a little different. I also love that Leila packs all the subscription boxes herself.
I know for one, both myself and C will be purchasing these boxes in the future.
Have you made flatbreads before?

I have never tried making flat bread before! I love that it contains everything that you need!
I have made easy flat breads which sometimes have been hit and miss. This kit was great so easy to follow as well
A really interesting idea. I’ve just dipped into Leila’s website; her products and workshops look amazing. I can remember going on some terrible team building days when I worked for a large company. If only they’d sent us all to Bake2Explore, instead!
I come from a line of bakers so it is in my blood really, we loved making this and it came out looking ok as well
something new to try this autumn – sure it will taste as good as it looks
This sounds like a great kit! My two love baking so they would probably love something like this!
It is great fun to have the kids helping
I haven’t made flatbreads yet but often make my own bread. I love sourdough too but haven’t made that for years.
These are great kits for making the flatbreads, sour dough is one of the breads I have not yet made
These look great and for the children to join in too
The subscription box from Bake2Explore sounds great. I really love to bake.
I haven’t experience baking or cooking, but I really love to learn and explore.
I think a subscription bread making kit is a genius idea and I love the story behind this brand. Looks like so much fun too..this would be a great gift for mother’s day!
What an interesting idea of a subscription box. I don’t have great experiences with baking bread, but I would love to learn how to make flatbread. I like it so much and I have yet to try taboon
I have made easy flatbread with just a few ingredients, this is much like baking bread as it does have yeast, but it is easy and worth a try as the results are amazing
This looks so so delicious!! I never tried flatbread with thyme, I always have it with cheese, so good! I love baking, I will try bake 2 explore.
You will love the baking boxes and these were great just on their own as well as with other dips or as accompliament to a meal
Boxes like this are a great way to encourage you to try making things you wouldn’t have made before. I love flatbreads but have never made them for myself x
I agree, and can see Bake2Explore becomming very popular, the instructions were so easy to follow, and finding out more about the flatbread was an added bonus
I don’t know much about baking, but I think that this is a great way for me to try out with friends and family.
We loved the kit and making the taboon flatbread, having everything you need and instructions makes it so much easier
I have never made flatbread so would love to try making it using the Taboon Kit, the instructions seem easy to follow and I bet my kids would enjoy baking with me
It would be great fun for the kids to get involved and make it, especially mixing it all together, and seeing it rise while proving
My daughter made flatbread for the first time a couple of months ago and it tasted amazing. We don’t bake often but we feel so satisfied when we get a chance too.
There is nothing nicer than homemade bread, sadly I don’t make it often enough
I’ve not made flatbreads in ages. The taboon making kit sounds like it would be nice to do with my children. They all like flatbread and it’s important to teach them how to make different foods.
The kids would love it, we had a great time making them, and I agree children do need to know about different foods and cultures
I grew up around a baker as well. Every time I bake with my kids, I feel his presence around me.
Haha you do get that voice telling you how you should be doing things dont you x
