Looking on life after lockdown a fun family day out? There are few better places for this than Brighton. As this lovely town on the south coast has plenty to see and do. Along with a laid-back atmosphere which makes it ideal for families. It can be hard to know how best to spend your time down here when there are so many good options – here are a few of the best things to do with kids.
Brighton Palace Pier

The Brighton Palace Pier is an iconic Brighton attraction and a brilliant place for kids. It is a great sight to behold once you make it down to the beach. There are all kinds of fun games, activities and rides to enjoy when you enter the pier. It is also a great place to enjoy an ice cream and take in the amazing views out to sea and over Brighton. The Brighton Palace Pier and other attractions are also easy to reach if you are travelling to Brighton by train. As you simply exit the station and head down to the front where most attractions are easily reachable on foot.
Brighton Sea Life Centre
Conveniently located opposite the Brighton Palace Pier is the fantastic Sea Life Centre which is one of Brighton’s most popular family attractions. This mesmerising aquarium within an original Victorian building is home to over 5,500 colourful creatures along with all kinds of cool and interesting exhibits, special events, play areas, talks, a shop and an inviting coffee shop. This all means that it is easy to spend a whole day at the Brighton Sea Life Centre and it is somewhere that kids adore.
The Royal Pavilion
The unmistakable Royal Pavilion is an amazing sight to behold having taken inspiration from Indo-Islamic architecture which makes it stand out in the centre of Brighton It was built as an exotic palace for King George IV in 1787 and it has lovely grounds which are perfect for a relaxing picnic. You must also visit the equally impressive interior which has incredibly lavish furniture, decor and works of art which you can enjoy on a fascinating tour of the Pavilion.
Brighton is a wonderful city and a great place to take the kids especially if it is a nice day. There are many good options for things to see and do while in Brighton with family but the above three are all essential experiences that will showcase everything that is so fantastic about Brighton.

I have never been to Brighton but it always sounds great. There are so many places I want to visit once all this is over, we were hoping to holiday in the UK this summer, but maybe we will have to do a couple of holidays next year instead.
We are lucky to live about 40 minutes away from Brighton, but find it easier and cheaper to go by train when we visit. We love Brighton especially the lanes, and then there is the pier so much to do x
When I was serving in the Army in Germany, back in the late 80’s and early 90’s, one of my regrets was not visiting the UK. I would love to go there, especially to Brighton! What a beautiful place!
Maybe once the lockdown is over you can plan a trip x
I have been to Brighton a few times and absolutely loved it. It’s so nice to just walk by the seaside
I would love to go for a walk along the pier especially with the sun out x
I don’t think Brighton is somewhere I have been before, but it one of those quintessential English seaside resorts, I really should go at some point as I would love to look around.
It is a lovely little seaside town with the older lanes and newer shopping area, and the pier is a must see x
We have decided after the lockdown we are going to be taking lots of day trips and local trips around the UK instead of heading abroad so Brighton is on our list of places to visit
I think a lot of people are doing the same this year x
Brighton is one of my favourite places to visit! I can’t wait to visit the seaside when this is all over.
Same here, really could do with a walk along the beach
Brighton is one place that we haven’t visited as yet, I’d love to do a tour of the south coast and take in all the sights.
It is not far from us so is the beach we visit, although find it cheaper to go by train than to drive and park
I really like Brighton and want to go back at some time when we’re allowed to travel. I’m keen to go on the BA 360 degree look out x
I really want to do the BA 360 as well I can remember it being built so would be gret to experience it
I’ve visited Brighton a few times. It’s a great place for a day trip or weekend away. I quite liked The Sea Life centre although it doesn’t compare with the one in London.
I totally agree we have had a few weekend trips there and have visited the sea life centre
I long for the days when we can go back to travelling. I have never been to Brighton but would love to even if it’s just a day trip to cover some of these
I can not wait to be able to enjoy days out again, Brighton is a lovely place to visit x
We’ve never actually been to Brighton but would love to. We’re definitely going to explore more of the UK when this is all over.
It is a lovely seaside town with lots of different things to do as well x
I love the ceiling in the sea life centre in Brighton, it is really apt with the lockdown theme of rainbows
I had forgotten about the ceiling but it is very apt for now
