Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 13/09/2023

It is Wednesday again, we are now back to routine with back to school or college. The weeks are flying by. Grab a cuppa and find out what has been happening in my Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 13/09/2023.

College

college

This is C’s first full week back to college. With her just doing her animal care course the timetable is reduced. We only have one 9am start and the whole day off on a Thursday. Currently she is looking for places to do her work experience for the year. Last year she worked in a vets and loved it, but wanting to try something different this year.

Festivals

Getting Festival Ready

You may remember this year we booked to go to our first festivals. It is something we had never done, plus me and camping was something I never thought I would do. We went to In It Together in Wales, which was awful. you can find out more here. They just wanted the people and did not provide what they were offering.

This weekend, we went to Boogietown, which luckily is not too far from us. Although it was very hot. My one complaint was lack of shelter, especially on Saturday. We paid for VIP which meant we could be at the front of the stage area which was not packed. The line up was great and especially loved Billy Ocean.

Sadly we got very little sleep, as the person in the next tent snored very loudly. My husband thought it was a motorbike or something it was that loud. This did not put off our experience and we had a great time and made new friends.

We decided to pack up and leave early afternoon. The showers had run out of water and we were shattered due to lack of sleep. We had a great time and will book for next year.

What I have been loving

Badiani’s Doggy Ice Cream

The Doggy Dessert Box is available to pick up in store or delivery. Badiani’s artisan confectioners have meticulously crafted this paw-fect dog gelato using lactose-free whole milk* to ensure it’s completely safe for most healthy pups (and even humans too!)

We just have Bear now who loves it, so much when trying to get a decent picture of him. He picks up the bowl and walks away, in case I want it for myself.

  1. I always am interested in festivals, but am afraid of having a bad time when it comes to sleeping in a tent! Sad to hear you had exactly that. Hope your next one is better.

  2. I’m loving you new experience with festivals. Because I haven’t been to any and still deciding whether to go to one, I want to see if you experienced one that was so perfect to lure me into it. Maybe because I have two active kids, sleep and a nice warm shower are so important to me, haha.

  3. Wow sounds like it’s been a busy time, hope your daughter finds a good work experience placement and that festival sounds like it was awesome (except the loud snoring from the tent next door)

    Laura x

  4. You answered a question I was always curious about for a long time, which is can we eat ice cream made for dogs? I never knew it was just lactose free icecream

  5. Samantha, you know how much I love to read your rambles, I like how u sum it up. , from your daughter’s college schedule to your festival experiences and even your dog’s love for Badiani’s Doggy Ice Cream it was a bliss to read.

  7. I remember those uni days where I had a day off during a week and most my lessons didn’t start till 11am which felt so good. Sleep in! Must be nice for you to miss those horrible rush hour drives too right?

I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone sleeping well in a festival. I have yet to go to one myself but I know I will definitely sleep lots before I go, haha

  8. The doggy ice cream is so cute! Sounds like your daughter is enjoying college. And I love a good festival, especially something different and unique.

  9. That is what puts me off festivals, I love my sleep! Earplugs next time. They do Doggy Ice Cream near us too which is fantastic for the pooches.

  10. It’s fantastic to hear about C’s college journey and her enthusiasm for exploring different work experiences! 📚🐾 Her willingness to step out of her comfort zone and seek new opportunities is truly admirable. Wishing her all the best in finding a fulfilling and exciting work experience for the year ahead.

  11. Festivals are fun to watch online like Coachella, but I don’t think I could put up with that many people and the ruckus. I’m glad you enjoyed the performances though. The doggy shop sounds so cute and like a lot of fun! Glad to hear C is doing well with her studies and I hope she finds a place she likes 😀

  12. It is sad how many festivals are like that now. I am glad she is going well in school so far though and hope it continues to go well.

  13. It is nice to have the whole school routine back again, I hope C finds some work experience. That festival sounds good (despite the snoring!!)

  14. It’s great to hear that C is back in college and exploring different opportunities for her work experience. It’s so important to try out various roles to find what truly resonates, and her experience in the vet’s office last year must have been incredibly valuable.

  15. It sounds like C has settled back into college, good luck to her.
It doesn’t sound like you had much luck with the festivals which is such a shame. I am glad you did manage to have some fun at Boogietown. x

    1. She has settled back great and someone from her Primary school is now there on the same course and group. I would not recomment In It Together at all. But would definitely go back to Boogietown

  16. I’m headed over to check out the Squishmallow game. Also, I hear you on the no sleep thing. I’m running on empty over here.

  17. I love fall festivals and I am looking forward to attend a couple that are in the region, this is so exciting! I love Fall….
