1. Engage in Physical Activities

Whenever you feel like picking up a vape, put on your shoes and try engaging in activities like brisk walking, jogging, cycling or dancing. These physical activities can help you to overcome the urge to get one last puff of your vape.

A bonus tip would be to participate in activities that you enjoy, ones which help you to relax. The calories that you will burn during these activities will not only help you keep your mind off of vaping but will also help you to become physically fit.

You can also try to start your day by exercising, which will keep your cravings at bay throughout the day. There are qualified personal trainers in Gravensend, Essex and London who can design a custom exercise routine to help you quit. Taking care of your body will enhance your appearance and make you feel more confident about yourself.

2. Practice Relaxation Techniques

Feeling stressed or depressed when quitting your vaping addiction is quite normal. You may often feel anxious and think about going back to vaping to relax. That’s why managing your stress and keeping yourself relaxed is important to continue your journey with ease. There are several techniques that can help you to cope with the stress that comes with withdrawal and blow off some steam.

For example, there are professionals offering services like reflexology in Camden. This is an interesting way to promote relaxation. This technique involves applying pressure to specific points on your feet, which are believed to correspond to various organs and systems, ultimately releasing stress.

Alternatively, you can also practise yoga, meditation or breathing exercises to limit your depressing feelings. These relaxing methods will greatly benefit your mental health whilst curbing your cravings to vape.

3. Seek Help From Professionals

Reaching out to professionals for help can do wonders for your recovery process. Therapists, counsellors and medical professionals offer valuable support and tools to help you overcome these unhealthy addictions. With their guidance and expertise, you can make remarkable progress in your journey to break loose from vaping addiction.

One way to do it is by consulting therapists, psychiatrists and medical doctors. This holistic approach will ensure a comprehensive care plan that will help you in overcoming vaping. Consult a doctor to find all the methods that can help like quit-vaping apps, counselling, medication, etc. Another, effective form of professional help that you may consider is online hypnotherapy, which is a valuable tool for addressing the cause and getting rid of vaping.

4.  Motivate Yourself to Quit

Worried about your health? Want to save your loved ones from second-hand embarrassment? Why do you want to quit vaping?

Backing your decision with a valuable and personal reason will keep you motivated. The level of motivation you have to quit plays a huge role in the entire process, enabling you to reach your goal without giving in to the withdrawal symptoms.

To make your motivation more realistic and practical you can think about the reasons that have compelled you to take this step – for example, to lower the chances of lung cancer, beat the odds of a heart attack, emotional influence of family members or a partner, inability to perform well at studies or work, etc. Once you are done thinking about the list, write it down on a piece of paper and stick it somewhere it will be visible to you.

5. Recognise and Avoid Temptations

You may be surprised to know that people switch to vaping to quit their smoking addiction. It doesn’t matter what your age or reason was to start vaping, it is harmful for your health and your overall well being.

When you decide to quit vaping, you may often feel the urge to go back when triggered by specific situations, emotions or places. These triggers could be anything – for example, spending time with certain friends, dealing with stress or having developed a habit for it.

By understanding what sets off your desire to vape, you can create plans to manage those feelings and keep the urges under control. For instance, if you are used to vaping after lunch, replace it with nicotine gum or candy.

6. Track and Celebrate Milestone

Quitting addictions like vaping is not easy, thus, you should reward yourself for your hard work and efforts. What is the need for rewards, you may ask? Well, the answer lies in how long you have gone without vaping. Whether it’s been a week or a month, celebrating your small wins will help you to keep going and remind you how far you have come.

Celebrate each milestone, no matter how big or small it might seem. Treat yourself by doing something you enjoy, like a movie night, having a meal at your favourite restaurant, a relaxing bath, or spending time with friends. These rewards will constantly make you feel that your efforts are worth it. Remember, the goal is not just to quit vaping, but to build a healthier and happier life.

To Sum It Up

Overcoming vaping addiction can be rewarding and challenging at the same time. Vaping does not only harm your health, it also takes a toll on the emotional well-being of your loved ones. Thus, you should realise the importance of the decision you have made, as it will affect your well-being as well as extend its positive influence on your dear ones.

In addition to that, if you want to curb unwanted urges, you need to understand your triggers. By learning and accepting how your body responds to these triggers, you can deal with such situations more effectively.

Lastly, quitting any kind of addiction is a deeply personal and transformative process. It requires patience, compassion and commitment and also demands a lot of personal effort to adjust to the discomfort of change.

Remember, every step you take or the changes you make, no matter how small they are, is worth it. So, buckle up and take that first step towards an addiction-free life!

  1. No addiction is easy and if you’ve been trying long enough, you might have even memorised this article a million times but the addiction perseveres. But never stop trying even if you’ve been trying for a long time. You fall down a million times, you get back up a million times. Do not judge yourself for your failures. Just remember the future is still out there and hold on to that hope because once you give up then there is no chance for any change. But keep trying and that fire is still lit.

  2. I don’t smoke, but with the amount of smoke vaping gives out, surely it is not a healthy alternative, the smell makes me feel sick.
