Enjoying the glorious weather? Hopefully it’s the start of a Great British Summer, and not the end of our yearly allocation of sun.
Either way, those who have gardens have been particularly enviable lately, as the property market booms with what Nationwide have christened a ‘race for space,’ and many are rushing to trade cramped cities for spacious suburbs!
If you’re one of the lucky garden owners out there, then your outdoor space will provide you with a great place to escape the heat of your home office – on the days we’re blessed with a breeze, that is!
Why not use the garden to achieve that perfect tan you were supposed to get on your cancelled holiday to Spain? It’s been just as hot here!
Here are five tips to help you make the most of your garden.
Hire a Gardener
No one enjoys doing the weeding, especially if you’ve let it get out of control. (Don’t worry, we’ve all been there!)
If that sounds familiar, consider hiring a gardener to do the hard work for you – even if it is just a one off to help you get on top of things. Use a site like Checkatrade to help you find someone reliable and local!
Paint Your Fence
Over time your garden fences can become dull, and the winter months are particularly cruel to our privacy-generating friends.
Wooden brown is of course the most traditional of the fencing colours, and white would be a nightmare to maintain in the stormy British weather, but a black fence can provide an elegant contrast with your carefully curated greenery!
Build a Firepit
This an excellent way for you to extend the usage time of your garden!
Firepits provide and wonderful source of heat, and who doesn’t love a roasted marshmallow?
If you aren’t prepared to invest in building a firepit, (we know they can take up a lot of room), then consider a firepit table.
They’re perfect for smaller gardens, and will keep you as roasty toasty as your marshmallows!
Update Your Garden Furniture
Give your garden a luxury feel and upgrade your lavish lawn! Invest in comfortable solutions and spend more time in your once-neglected outdoor spaces!
Furniture gurus like SM London will help you create that perfect patio look to create a garden you can be proud of and enjoy spending time in.
Host a BBQ
Get your family and friends over to enjoy your new and improved garden!
We’ve gone so long without spending quality time with our loved ones, and while at first you might have liked the peace and quiet and skipping visits from the in-laws, admit it… you missed them!
Enjoy some good food on a warm evening and create treasured memories – be sure to take plenty of photographs too!
We know there’s a good chance that we’ve had our one-week allowance of good weather for the year, but it’s never too soon to start prepping for next summer!
