The days seem so long at the moment, but the weeks seem to be flying past. Way too fast at the moment, and here we are at Wednesday again. Which means it is now time for my weekly Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 02/04/2025.

Health

There is no change with me, I still have a sore toe but it is healing and still swollen. But it just aches more usually at the end of the day when I have my feet up. I have my neurologist appointment this month to see if anything showed in my mri’s and the cause of the pain down my left side.
Poor C is suffering at the moment, she thought she had a cold, but thinks it is probably hayfever now. She looks awful and has never had it before. Luckily, she finished college yesterday for nearly 4 weeks. She desperately needs this time off. As her ME and Fibromyalgia are also affecting her big time.
Grief

It is two months today since I lost my husband. It hit me really hard yesterday as we have now moved into months and not weeks.
I have had so many messages, of support and also messages from others who are struggling. As April is Stress Awareness month. I am going to write a dedicated post about grief. I did this for Babyloss Awareness as well and it helped just write it all down. But also has helped so many other people.
Recipes

C and I have been having lots of fun in the kitchen, trying out new recipes. This week I shared a very easy and very tasty one pot chorizo and rice recipe. The other recipes we have tried are
Next week I will be sharing another chicken recipe
Easter

Easter is only a few weeks away. As the kids start to break up from school and start to enjoy the sunny weather. They will be getting excited for the return of the Easter Bunny.
I have been working on my Easter Gift Guide, to bring you different ideas on Easter gifts as well as chocolate treats.
Keep checking back as I will be going live with my guide very soon.

This Week

C and I do have plans this week. Firstly, today C is going to have her very first tattoo. Her dad always said she will end up getting a tattoo at some stage. She keeps trying to talk me into having one, but there is no way I am going to say yes.
Friday, we are busy mad dash to the hospital for C’s Botox injections for her migraines. Then we are off to London to see the Tim Burton Exhibition. Which she has been looking forward to going too.
Next Wednesday, we are off to see my grandaughters for some much needed Nanny cuddles.

I do hope the holiday distracts your mind. I am so excited for Easter break myself, especially as there has been some sunshine.
I am hoping having C home and having more relaxed days it will help and the weather has been lovely
I am so sorry for your loss. I give my deepest condolences to you and your loved ones, may you find all the comfort you need in the memories you both shared. May you have a blessed Easter as well.
Thank you it was a complete shock and came from nowhere, I am struggling as our the kids. It will just take a lot of time
You are going through so much, it is bound to feel very hard. I hope your daughter manages to rest during her break. The Tim Burton exhibition looks great.
We are just taking it one day at a time, The Tim Burton experience was amazing and anyone who likes his work should try to see it before it goes in May
Hopefully what C has is just hayfever, although I don’t mean it as ‘just hayfever’ as it can be a massive fan. I know she’s probably on loads of medication but my husband recently started on allevia for his hayfever and it’s banished his symptoms so hopefully that’s something she can take? x
I think it might be hayfever, we popped out yesterday and I got her some allevia tablets to try which she said did help her a bit. I also got a variety of things as well. Glad to hear it has helped your husband
I’m so sorry about that suffering you have been through. I simply can’t find words to express how am I feeling right now.
Thank you x
I am so sorry to know about your husband, it will take time, the pain may reduce but some grief will always remain, stay strong
Thank you, it was a total shock and still feels like I am living in a nightmare
I am so sorry to hear about your daughter and your toe! I’m sending you a big virtual hug. I never heard of Chorizo rice before but from what I heard it’s delicious.
Thank you, I was saying earlier it is starting to get easier with my toe, then go out shopping and 6 pints of milk falls on it and I am in agony again. If you love chorizo you will love this recipe
I look forward to your Easter Guide and Giveaway
I will be going live shortly with my Easter Guide
Hope the hospital appointments go well. Enjoy the exhibition
Thank you the exhibition should be fun
I am sorry to hear about your daughter and toes. Sending you prayers and hugs. The recipe sounds good, I will try it!
Thank you, C has suffered so much lately, and my poor toe got hurt again today so gone back a few weeks with its recovery I think. I hope you enjoy the recipe
good luck with the tattoo – never been brave enough
Onward and upwards to you all
I am not brave enough to have one, both C and her friend said it was not that bad and both came away happy
I understand that grief to a certain degree. When I was 14, I lost my best friend. I’ve never had a better friend since. 31 years later, the grief still hits me almost as fresh as when it happened.
I am so sorry about your friend. Everyone grieves differently and has different relationships. I have spoken about this to my kids. That although we are grieving the same person my level of grief is totally different to theirs. I lost my husband and my relationship was different. They lost their dad and had a different relationship with them. I have not lost a parent so can only try to understand how it feels for them. If that makes sense
Oh, no! I’m sorry to hear about both your toe and your daughter! I hope she spends those four weeks really babying herself and getting the rest she needs!
I keep thinking my toe is imporoving then at night it is so achy depending on what I have been doing throughout the day. But now I can wear a pair of shoes I do feel a lot better. C is really struggling at the moment she has those ME eyes and now the hayfever on top as wel as everything else
The chorizo rice seems delicious and a must try. I can’t wait to try this out, thank you so so much.
I hope you enjoy it, if you love chorizo you will love this
