We are speeding through March so fast it is scary. As we say hello to the last Wednesday in March it is now time for my weekly Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 26/03/2025.

Health

I went to the drs on Friday, as my sleep or lack of is getting too much now. The dr was lovely and we went through everything. She has given me some tablets for anxiety and said I could take one or two tablets at night,
I started with 1 and slept slightly better, so on Saturday I took 2. Then about 10 minutes later C told me her heart palpitations were bad. Plus weird feeling in her touch etc. I asked if she wanted me to ring 111 and she said yes – she usually says no. So there I am about 9.30pm ringing 111 and told someone would ring us back in about 2 hours.
My tablets started to kick in and I had to keep fighting to stay awake. Eventually at 3am we got a call saying they are very busy but someone will call. So I asked if they could ring in the morning so we could sleep. They agreed and rang around 9.30.
Hospital Visit
We ended up being told to go to A&E, so off we head. She had blood tests and ecg. Then told we had a 2 hour wait for the blood tests to come back. We got moved to another area and waited ages. Eventually the dr who was lovely explained that it does sound like POTS plus also anxiety as she has been through so much lately. After 7 hours we were able to go home.
Grief

It is now 7 weeks since I lost my husband, and my grief is just as strong as the day that broke my heart. I have been feeling very low and lost this past week. But I suppose it is emotions and trying to process things and a new life without him after 26 years together.
We scattered some of his ashes in the garden and planted the white rose bush this week. That was emotional.
On Saturday we are visiting my mother in law and taking the ashes with us so he can be scattered with the rose bush she has also got. Plus it is Mothers Day weekend and it will be very emotional for her.
Recipes

As you know C and I are changing our meals. We are trying to add new recipes to our meal times and so far have had a success with
We have another great recipe to share this time with chorizo which I will be sharing soon
Mothers Day

It is Mothers Day this Sunday. Have your got your gift for your mum sorted? If not my Mothers Day Gift Guide is full of great gift ideas.
Plus keep checking back as I have some great last minute gift ideas waiting to be added.
What I Am Loving

As you know I recently had a fall and ended up breaking my big toe. Since that day I have not been able to wear a pair of shoes. Last week C mentioned wearing crocs, so I ordered a pair and they worked. I then found these shoes on sale and thought why not, I ordered slightly bigger and they arrived yesterday. The are so comfortable and at least now I can wear a pair of shoes when I venture outdoors.

It has been a really tiring term and exams are about to begin. My plans for the Easter holidays are to sleep and rest as much as possible!
Unfortunately, as with the majority of Bank Holidays, I shall be spending the night on the aisles, rather than the tiles. Such is the nature of the beast when working in a supermarket.

Sorry to hear your sleeping has still been bad, but it’s good that you’ve got tablets now and it seems to be working. I can’t imagine what grief does to your body, but you’re going to have to take it one day at a time. Sending all my love to you, C and the whole family x
Apparently grief really does affect all parts of your life and body, plus the emotions on top. I am trying to get more as I tried without them the other night and was awake most of the night.

watching lots of tv and maybe a bit of shopping
Spending Easter Sunday with family celebrating nephew’s 30th birthday
I would love to say something about your grief, but there’s honestly nothing uplifting to say other than I’ll be sending good vibes. Grief subsides in its own time, and 7 weeks is not that long in the scheme of a life. =(
I wish I could have a switch to switch it off at night but sadly there isn’t anything. I have found a few groups for people in the same situation as me and that really does help
That is so horrible. Grief like that stays so strong for so long. I love that you scattered some ashes in the garden before planting the rosebush. He’ll always be alive in a way now.
Grief is such a strong emotion, at the hospital with C on Sunday the dr said the heart is an emotional organ mine is shattered
