Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 21

Somehow it is Tuesday again, which means it is time for my Life In A Lockdown liny post.  Can you believe we are into week 21 already. It only seems like a couple of days ago I wrote last weeks post. So lets see how last week was for me.

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I am still in pain but managing to cope with it more.  It has been a very stressful week on various counts.  Thursday saw the GCSE results come out.  My Facebook feed was full of parents of C’s old school friends share results proudly.  Although I was happy, it was too much as we never had this chance.  C did get put in for grading at our request and we got the results Friday she did have pass marks but nothing that would see a future in college etc.  Also on Thursday we got confirmation of our EHCP appeal with the hearing at the end of November.  So technically no education for a term.

Also we have been looking at holidays, we were planned to go to France in September with friends.  But this is now cancelled due to COVID-19 so have been looking at other places to go.  Hopefully we have managed to sort this fingers crossed.

2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?

Literally with everything above I have not had a lot of free time.  We did meet up with friends in London on Saturday evening for a meal and drinks out.  That was certainly an experience, but also lovely to meet up and do something normal.

4) What advice do you have for others?

Wear your mask and where it properly, the amount of people I see wearing them wrong annoys me.  I hate wearing them but I do.  Also just to be aware luckily everywhere has hand sanitiser now and I use it all the time

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business

Just small hand sanitiser bottles to have in the car and bags when we are out.  I do seem to have become a bit OCD in using it

6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

I get up in the morning and go to bed at night, everything in between is a bonus

7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

Just our week away next month

How has your week been?

Thank you to

  1. Everything over here is slowly getting back to normal. If wearing masks out in public will ever be considered normal.

    1. I know I said to my husband I wonder if this is going to be the normal from now on. I have masks all over the place so never without one now

  2. Good luck with getting somewhere to stay on holiday! It might be worth talking to colleges about how things have been with C, I got into college with my grades as we explained everything that went on.

    1. I think we have found somewhere, and a friend knows people out there and so been getting local info as well. We are waiting on the appeal and going from there. At the moment she keeps laughing at me being her teacher

  3. Right now, all I can wish for is for people to have some kind of discipline in themselves and cooperate with the government and the health professionals. Being on quarantine for the longest time (Since March 16th), it is already getting so frustrating that up to this time, we haven’t “flattened the curve.” Wishing you and your family good health and stay safe always.

  4. I am glad C got pass marks but it must be frustrating for you that she never got ti showcase her abilities. Let’s hope she gets to experience college in the future.
I work in a supermarket and the amount of people who don’t wear masks drives me nuts

    1. They were the lowest marks you can get but better than being ungraded never relised how let down she had been until putting in the EHCP appeal. I do not have a problem with those with medical issues but the ones who blatantly refuse to wear them just because they don’t want to are the ones I get annoyed with

  5. I’m so sorry to hear about the GCSE position that C has been in, it can’t be easy to have everyone else celebrating etc x

  6. Sounds like quite a stressful week. It’s been such a funny few months hasn’t it? The mask thing is crazy, I wish people would just wear them where they need to.

  7. So glad you’ve got the pass marks! It’s definitely be a roller coaster of a year and I really don’t think we are out of the end of it yet
