Somehow, it has been a week since my last Diary of a Menopausal Mum post. What a difference a week makes. With Blogtober now finished, and very happy that I completed the whole month – you can find a list of all my posts here.
Now, I can relax a little and look forward to birthday celebrations and Christmas. Hope you all had a lovely week.

College

We are still in half term, as C has two weeks off from college. This has meant that we still have no idea what is happening with her maths class. We were chatting yesterday and she mentioned it, and how she is worrying over it. So have emailed again this morning to try to find out what is going on. Either that or I will be going in with her Monday morning to sort it.
Christmas

Last week, I shared about two of my gift guides going live. Now I have published two more –
With still one more gift guide to go, and then lots of festive posts to come.
Going Out

Last Wednesday, we took C to her first concert and she loved it. Which means, we are now planning more, one being seeing Muse hopefully. My husband ended up driving to the concert which was at the O2 Shepherds Bush. As I had to go on water only due to having my blood tests the following morning, I had to drive home.
Anyone, who knows me, will know although I am a confident driver, I do not drive in London. Although technically, we do live in a London borough. C, somehow always gets in the front, so had my husband in the back directing me. The arguments we had, which is pretty normal when I am driving. Plus they both made me stop so they could get a Costa, which I thought very unfair.
Blood Tests
I finally had my blood tests last Thursday morning, and got a bit scared when my Dr phoned me Monday lunchtime. Thankfully, my pre-diabetes and cholesterol was nothing to worry about and down to good levels. My D3 is very low plus something else and now on medication for those. I have been very worried about being Diabetic, as love my coffee and have sugar in my coffee.
Proud Mum

From time to time, I share C’s drawings. Last night I noticed she was drawing one, and asked if she had finished any. When she replied she had just finished this one, she showed me and I just went wow. I am so jealous of her talent, which is all natural and self learnt.
She turns 19 next Monday, I still do not know where all those years have gone. She amazes me daily, keeps me grounded, laughs at me and with me. Tomorrow, we are going out to get her birthday present, as she wants a few piercings and agreed she could have them. As always told my kids piercings you can take out Tattoos are with you for life. This is more the middle one, who I am going to have to write a post about at some stage. After asking for recommendations, we are going to a tattoo place for her to have second lobe, helix rim and nose. How could we say no, after all she has been through.
How has your week been?

I posted only yesterday on my facebook profile page about Menopausal rages… and then once again this morning dreaded Aunty Flow appeared …. Im 53 and still they won’t bog off…… hormone blood tests are not showing anything.. cholesterol is naturally low, Vitamin D low.. and recently been treated for severe anaemia..
It is horrible isn’t it, I have a coil as have another condition where cells create a lot faster than they should and could turn cancerous. Only downside is having biopsies which are painful. I have just been put on very high Vitamin D and folic acid for B12
I always think it’s great to keep art as a hobby, a wind down activity. Once you use art in a job full time, I think it takes away some of your creativity and make it like a chore. It was for me anyway. Being forced to draw something out of your imagination within a timeframe made me hate art for a while. It was a lot of pressure just like you said so I am glad C is keeping it as a hobby. Her love for animals will make her great at working with them. She’s so compassionate and understand and I wish her all the best in her chosen career path
This is why she chose not to do art and chose animals, she just loves all animals and always has
You and your husband sounds like my in laws. It’s always one directing the other and we’re just quiet trying to not get involved, haha.
I must say, I am not liking how C’s college is leaving you in the dark all the time. At least C is still enjoying her course. I hope her Maths lessons get sorted. Something like that would stress me out
I have college sorted out now, although she is not happy first full day back, going into a new maths class and it’s her birthday
I lobe when the kids are off from school… whether that be college or grade school. I always love having them around. the house is better when its full!!
I love the holidays as well, and doing things with C
The first concert is always such a special experience. I still remember my first one. No wonder now you and C are planning to see more, she must have had so much fun.
She loved it, and like her Dad has a wide range of music she loves
thank you for these, I am not there yet. Your daughter picture is amazing by the way and I hope you get collage sorted. x
I hope when you do it is not too bad for you, she amazes me with her talent and was chatting to her earlier about it. College all sorted which saves me parking up on Monday and going in to see them
I’m going through menopause too and relate to this so much!
It is not a great experience is it x
I relate to this so much!
oo to be 19 again – happy birthday – so many talents to bring forth
I know it really does not seem possible, but she has grown into such an amazing person so proud of her
The drawings are so nice! I love that style of artwork…she is so talented and I am so happy you have decided to share. You have every right to be a proud mama! ^_^
Thank you, she does have a talent, the drawing I share this post with is one she drew of me years ago from a stupid photo her dad took after I asked if she would draw me
C’s drawings are incredibly beautiful. I would be very proud too.
Thank you x
The drawing is amazing! She is very tallented!
Thank you, she certainly does not get her talent from me
I’m glad your blood tests were ok. Your daughter is very talented!
Thank you am very relieved, and she amazes me
Poor C. I hope you find out soon what is going on at college. How exciting to go to a concert and I am glad the blood tests went well. C is so talented with her drawing. I hope she has a wonderful birthday. x
Got college sorted yesterday, but another problem has come up which is easily sorted. She loved the concert. Birthday is next Monday first day back, but out today for her present from us
Calls always make me nervous after bloodwork, even when I’m only getting a checkup.
I did panic, C was standing beside me as we weere cooking, she looked and went oh dear. Thankfully what I was worrying over was ok
that illustration your daughter has drawn is just amazing. she could be a really great graphic designer
She used to want to work for Disney when she was younger, now she is older it is all about animals. She doesn’t want to do anything arty, which I totally get as that is her zone out time and non pressured.
Your daughter is very talented, the drawing is beautiful, I am glad your blood results came out normal.
She is, luckily she is not like me and can draw. I am so relieved nothing more is going on and my tests were ok
The drawing that C did is amazing wow!!! She is so so good, very talented.
I know, was chatting to her last night when she showed me, I just said wow as well. I am so jealous of her talent
Such a scare, when docs call not long after bloodtests, but glad they were fine
I know, I was just making lunch with C and went omg, am just so glad it is something minor that can be treateed
