Easy Slow Cooker Beef Bourguignon

In my quest to cook more home cooked meals from scratch. I also want to use my slow cooker a lot more than I do. If I am honest the only meal I usually cook in my is my slow cooked beef. This week I cooked Easy Slow Cooker Beef Bourguignon.

I know it is another beef recipe, this is total coincidence and not intentional. Next week I am looking at a chicken recipe.

Slow Cooker Beef Bourguignon

Although this is another easy recipe, if you have a busy household in the mornings. It may be best for a weekend meal.

This was a huge hit and there was some left over which I have frozen for another day.

What slow cooker meals would you like me to try next?

Ingredients

5 slices of streaky bacon sliced
800g (s packs) of lean diced beef
1 cup of red wine
2 cups of chicken stock
1/2 cup of passata
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup flour

2 tsp lazy garlic or 2 garlic cloves crushed
2-3 carrots sliced

Sunflower oil

You can add small potatoes and mushrooms as well

How To Make

  • In a pan add a little oil and gently fry the bacon until crispy and transfer to the slow cooker
  • season the beef with salt and pepper and add to the pan to seer and then transfer to the slow cooker
  • Add the wine to the pan and simmer for a couple of minutes. Before adding the chicken stock, passata and soy sauce
  • Mix together and then gentrly whisk in the flour to thicken slightly and transfer to the slow cooker
  • Add the carrots and garlic – if using mushrooms and potatoes also add to the slow cooker and stir in
  • Cook on low for minimum of 6 hours

I served with creamy mashed potatoes

This is a perfect home comfort meal that is perfect for the weather we are having at the moment. The hosue smells amazing while it cooks.
