We are all thinking about Christmas at the moment. Gits aside there is always so much more to think about. Christmas dinner is that one meal we all look forward to sitting down to with our loved ones. By preparing your dinner table for Christmas dinner can cause as much stress as preparing the meal. Which is why we are sharing how to prepare your table for Christmas dinner.

We all want to make our Christmas table look spectacular. Below are some of the things you need to think about.
Table of Contents
Choose Your Colour Scheme
- Classic: Red, green, and gold.
- Modern: White, silver, and icy blues.
- Rustic: Earthy tones with plaid or natural wood elements.
There are so many colour schemes you can choose from. Finding the right colour and quality linen that is affordable. Is your first step.
Once you have chosen your colour scheme the rest falls into place. This year I have chosen Wild Raspberry coloured tablecloth and napkins.
Choose Your Dinner Plates
Layer up your dinner plates for example -Layer the dinner plate, salad plate, and any additional dishes.
Decide On How To Place Your Napkins
If using napkins decide on how you are going to display them
Set the Glassware and Silverware
- Arrange silverware properly: forks on the left, knives and spoons on the right.
- Include both wine and water glasses for each guest.
- Use polished, matching utensils for a cohesive look.
Incorporate a Centrepiece
- Traditional: Candles with a garland of pine, berries, and ornaments.
- Modern: A minimalist vase with white flowers and fairy lights.
- Rustic: A wooden tray with mason jars, pine cones, and greenery.
- Ensure the centrepiece does not block the view across the table.
Thinking about this now, can give you that warm feeling of being prepared. Another thing you can tick of your to do list. It also gives you the time to have everything in place for how you want your Christmas dinner table to look. Without panicking and having to make do with what is in the shops.
