Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 10/07/2025

I honestly have to keep asking what day it is this week, and been told today is definitely Wednesday. Which must mean time for my weekly round up post Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 10/07/2025.

Health

Last Friday, I was back at my Dr surgery with my ongoing problem of pain all down my left side. I saw one of the two drs who I really like and who do listen. She went through so much, asked so many questions and did a few tests on me.

This resulted in me being put on a new medication, one which I was aware of as C was on it at the start of her illness. Plus an urgent referral to Neurology as need a scan on my neck. She also sent me a list of things to keep an eye on and go straight to A&E.

I had notification yesterday that the referal had been sent, and then a notification on my NHS app that an appointment had been made for January 2025. I am speaking with my Dr again on Friday so will see what she says. One thing I know is I can not carry on like this with this medication as I am really not with it.

A Scare With C

Last week C started complaining of her eyeballs hurting, like they were bruised. Years ago in a routine eye appointment, it was found she had pressure built up behind her eye and could damage her optical nerve and in turn she could go blind.

She was diagnosed with IIH and had two MRI scans and 3 lumbar punctures. Every eye test she is fully checked and we can always go in at anytime if we feel something is wrong. I rang on Monday, and we got an appointment for the same afternoon. Loads of tests and thankfully all clear.

Let’s Talk

lets talk

I was going to write this post this week, but honestly my brain is so woozy at the moment with this new medication. I was talking with my husband and friends over the weekend about health screenings. As we know Women get called for routine Mammograms and Smear Tests. Where as men get nothing.

The irrational thing is, for women especially with Mammograms it is using big machines etc. For men checked for Prostate Cancer it is as simple as a simple blood test. My Dad is in remission for Prostate Cancer, which had spread. Luckily he is now tested every year, plus has an appointment.

Surely, it is time that men were screened as well. A simple blood test takes so little time and less intrusive.

Product Of The Week

Product Of The Week

This is where I share with you something I have purchased myself this week, and am loving.

The Pink Stuff

the pink stuff

I know I am very late to the party with this. I do love trying new cleaning products and even making my own. As, I live in a hard water area so water staining, limescale for example is a constant battle. No idea what my family get up too in the bathroom. But at times it looks so grubby.

I decided to buy some Pink Stuff products to use around my home. To say, I am impressed even my hob racks or whatever they are called have come up like brand new with hardly any effort.

If you are already a user of the pink stuff, what has impressed you with the products?

    1. I did go back to the drs on Friday, saw a different one who told me to carry on. I am really not enjoying the experience of it. I am glad I am not the only one late to the party

  5. Sounds like you have a lot happening at the moment. And I hope they see you soon, January 2025 is a long time to have to wait.

    1. It has been pretty hectic, I am hoping they can see me sooner, although I do know through C seeing neurology that this is probably urgent for them

  6. Pleased you have been able to see a doctor that is listening to you. January 2025 is a very long time to be waiting for an appointment. Hope your GP manages to somehow reduce the waiting time

    1. It was refreshing to have someone understand and listen, I did say I feel as though I have been a pain with keep coming back. Hoefully there will be a cacellation or something sooner

  7. I am so sorry to hear C is not feeling well. I hope she feels better. It is great that she was cleared! FEEL BETTER C.

  8. I wish there were a blood test to screen for breast cancer. I can’t imagine having to have my stuff smashed between two plates like that.

  9. Oh, fun! I’ve never heard of Pink Stuff, but I need something that really cleans. What I’m using now is terrible.

    1. I heard so many people say positive things about, then I saw it in the middle aisle of Aldi and someone started talking to me about it. Then my daughters friend said she used it (no idea how they got onto that conversation), so I gave in and thought lets see for myself. I can now see why everyone loves it
