Give yourself a stress break
When you’re stressed, it’s easy to feel like there’s not much you can do to improve it. But one of the simplest things you can do is give yourself a stress break.
Giving yourself a break doesn’t mean doing anything; you take some time each day to relax and recharge your batteries. Sometimes this means taking a nap or going for a walk in the park. Other times it means meditating, listening to music, or spending time with friends or family. Even the simplest tasks can help you relax, whether playing a video game after work or enjoying CBD e-liquid during your downtime. Whatever your preferred way of relaxing is, curating this time for yourself can help relieve stress and give your body and mind the necessary break.
Find stress relief in music.
Music can help you relieve stress in a variety of ways. Music can reduce your heart rate and blood pressure, which will help lower your stress levels. It can also calm you down and make you feel more relaxed, which is another way to relieve stress.
Another way music helps relieve stress is by distracting you from negative thoughts or feelings. This can be helpful when you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious because it allows you to focus on something else besides the source of your anxiety.
Consider aromatherapy.
You should consider aromatherapy in order to relieve stress because it’s a natural way to reduce anxiety, promote relaxation, and improve your mood.
Aromatherapy involves using essential oils extracted from plants and flowers to treat various ailments. It’s been used to treat everything from headaches to insomnia, but it has also been used as a therapeutic tool for stress relief.
There are many ways you can incorporate aromatherapy into your daily life to help relieve stress. You can use essential oils in diffusers or candles to create an atmosphere that promotes calmness and relaxation. You can also use them directly on your skin by applying them with carrier oils or blending them into massage oils.
Get some fresh air and sunshine.
Fresh air and sunshine can help reduce stress because they have a calming effect on the body. The sun’s warmth gives us a sense of well-being while breathing in fresh air gives us a sense of freedom.
When stressed out, our bodies tend to tense up as we try to deal with the situation. This can lead to headaches, fatigue, and other physical symptoms that make it difficult to relax when we go home from work or school.
By taking some time outdoors in nature, we can help relax our muscles and release tension. The sun’s warmth on our skin helps us feel more connected with ourselves, which makes it easier for us to feel calm and relaxed when we’re done enjoying time outside.

I learned this many years ago on a CBT MINDFULNESS course to manage chronic fatigue syndrome
taking time for me is essential- finding the time is essential but truely worth it
C did a CBT course once hated the person and she went into a huge crash. But it is about listening to your body and taking time out
I did 2 – the first one the cbt counsellor didn’t have a clue about CFS /ME – the 2nd time I choose the counsellor after researching credentials
C Is so young – may be worth trying again
It is sad the amount of professionals who do not understand chronic illness. It floors me more now when someone actually does understand it
Sometimes when I’m stressed I feel like I can’t rest and I have to complete everything. But it took a long time for me to realise that it’s actually the opposite of what my mind and body needs. Recently I have been taking naps and it has helped me slow down and I am more able to think more clearly when I wake up. Every morning I take little scroll around the block after taking my son to school so I’m surrounded by nature just so I can start the day appreciating the world around me. It’s these little things that help make a day easier
My husband made me stop work at 5pm and take weekends off, as I was just working non stop once. When working from home it is easy to keep going, plus all the housework and everything else on top. Also now I have to drop C off at college and pick her up, I am listening to my music and I sing my heart out (unless she is in the car with me as he just looks at me haha) and it really does relieve the stress.
Awww. My husband is the same. He has banned me cooking on the weekends just so I can have a break. Now we have ready made meals on Saturday and a takeaway on Sunday. I also sing my heart out when I’m doing my grocery shopping (well, on the way there). I love how music can reduce so much stress
I think it is important to take the time out, I had emails all over the weekend and yesterday and I just left them until today. Now C is at college I do get the drive to listen to my music and sing along, I have told her my aim is to get her joining in she just looks at me
I find my job very stressful at times, but I find writing a list of what i need to do, and then being able to cross jobs off as I complete a task helps me feel liken I am making progress! I do struggle to switch off from work though.
I get very stressed if I have timelines etc that are looming. I have to write everything down more so now C has started college and starts and finishes at different times everyday.
