1. Start early

The earlier you start planning your trip, the less stressed you’ll be. Begin by making a list of everything you need to do and when you need to do it as well as looking for places to stay in durham. This will help you stay organised and on track.

2. Don’t procrastinate

Procrastination will only add to your stress levels. On the other hand, if you start early, you’ll be less likely to put things off until the last minute. You’ll also find the best deals for things like holidays in the Peak District and the travel items you need to buy if you get ahead and avoid procrastination.

3. Set a budget

Before you start booking flights or hotels, set a budget for your trip. This will help you avoid overspending and keep your financial stress to a minimum.

4. Travel during off-peak times

If possible, avoid travelling during the busiest times of the year. This includes major holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also avoid the crowds and the long lines at airports and attractions.

5. Pack light

Packing light is one of the best ways to reduce travel stress. Avoid bringing unnecessary items and focus on packing only the essentials. This will make it easier to carry your bags and keep track of your belongings.

6. Make a list of what you need to pack

10. Travel with an open mind

One of the best ways to reduce stress while travelling is to have an open mind. Things will inevitably go wrong, but try to roll with the punches and enjoy yourself. Don’t let the little hiccups ruin your trip.

11. Stay positive

No matter what happens, try to stay positive. This positive attitude will help you enjoy your trip and make the best of any situation.

  1. That is really good advice. I do tend to roll my clothing as it seems to make everything fit better and also means I have extra space left in my bag for gifts I may buy for those at home.

    1. I apparently am useless at packing according to my husand, this is what he told me years ago. So now I take full advantage and remind him of this as I leave my pile of packing for him to pack haha

  2. I feel I’m pretty good with planning a holiday. I actually love the planning stage more than the holiday itself sometimes. But I am awful at packing light to leave room for souvenirs.

  3. Great tips, i have a tip that keeps me stress free, i like to take photographs of all my appliances and plugs being off then i dont worry i forgot to turn anything off lol
