A week or two away from the pressures of work can be a fantastic antidote for stress. But if you don’t plan and prepare for your holiday in the right way, paradoxically, you might end up suffering more stress than if you’d stayed at home.
Let’s take a look at a few of the most important measures you might take in order to ensure that everything goes smoothly.

Start Planning Early for Better Choices and Savings
The earlier you start planning, the greater the range of options you’ll enjoy. This applies to everything from tables at restaurants to hotel rooms to seats on aeroplanes. The earlier you book, the lower the chances that these things will be filled up. By leaving it late, you risk competing for a limited number of slots, which will naturally drive up the price.
On the other hand, it’s fair to say that leaving it to the last minute can reduce your costs, if you’re unfussy about where you’re travelling, and how.
Set a Clear Budget and Manage Holiday Spending
Money concerns can lead to holiday stress. You’re unlikely to enjoy your time on the beach if you know that you’re going to struggle to pay for it over the coming months. By setting out a clear, realistic budget early on, you’ll be more likely to stay on top of your costs. This, in turn, will make it easier for you to relax.
Stay Organised with Travel Documents and Health Preparation
Your travel documents should be accessible throughout your trip. Keep them in a special wallet, and make sure that you have digital equivalents on your phone, where possible. Passports, insurance documents, health essentials, and other things might be called upon, should you encounter an unexpected situation while you’re abroad.

Choose Flexible, Family-Friendly Travel Options
A good package holiday can vastly decrease the stress associated with travel. When every aspect of your break has been taken care of, there’s less work for you to do when it comes to booking things like restaurants, hotels, activities, and other things. On top of that, there’s less that might go wrong.
As well as simplifying your plans, you might also find that a package holiday ends up protecting you financially. When something does go wrong, the operator will have the means to help you out. In other words, you needn’t fear getting to your chosen restaurant and finding that there’s been a mix-up and you actually don’t have a table.

Absolutely start early, plan carefully and check fully every detail and every document.
I have never taken a package holiday and rather like the idea of leaving the travel operator to organise most of the holiday. I’d still want to check everything, though!
I have taken package holidays and holidays where we make the travel arrangements.
I go with the flow
sometimes I let someone else do everything and I just go with the flow
I do love handing over and doing the same thing
Staying organised on holiday helps me relax! I even have a food shop bought, paid for and ready for delivery for the day we get home usually, just to make sure nothing goes unplanned

Preparation is the key, I always panic until we have got to our destination then it is just too late to worry about
I had a bad experience around 30 years ago – we had travel insurance and thought everything would be covered – shocked when I fell on a pavement – ended up in hospital 3 days and wasn’t allowed to fly back on date booked – ended up selling my tag heur watch to pay for hospital and more accommodation – went straight to a/e on return and was admitted for emergency surgery ! I now always check and double check ✔️ lesson learnt
Oh no that sounds like a bad experience you think your insurance would cover you
