It is the 1st October, which many of you who have followed me for a few years will know it is time for Blogtober. Blogtober is where I join a group of Bloggers and we post a new post every day in October. I was unsure if I would take part this year, but decided to join in. It is a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Today’s prompt is October’s Quiet Moment.
While thinking of this, I was trying to think of something during this time of year that is a quiet moment. I went on google to see if I could find some inspiration and found this poem.

ToggleOctober’s sigh is warm,
Soft light before the storm.
The trees hold gold within,
As frost begins to thin.
A chill stirs in the air,
But autumn lingers there.
With every fading day,
The sun melts slow away.
This poem captures the last traces of warmth that October offers before the colder months take over. It emphasises the delicate transition between autumn and the coming frost, with a focus on fleeting moments of golden light.
It has got considerably colder, and you can really tell that Autumn is now here. The evenings are getting longer, with it getting noticeably darker earlier. The weather is changing. When walking my dog I notice how nature is changing.
Although, Spring is my favourite season, I do love Autumn where we start wearing our coats and my much loved boots come back out.
It is time for those fleecy throws and warm mugs of hot chocolate, as you snuggle up to watch a film. Your slippers to stop your feet getting cold.
To me October brings those little things we all see and do everyday. Keeping warm and enjoying nature as it changes colour to those warm browns, red and oranges of nature.
What are Octobers quiet moments for you?
I hope you join me on my month of Blogtober and come back each day.
This is a very lovely poem about Autumn! Spring is a fantastic season, but Autumn is always my favorite, even though t’s a bit cold.
Spring has always been my favourite season, but Autumn is a close second
A lovely poem indeed! Hearing about Blogtober for the first time.
Blogtober is a fun challenge but also does get quite stressful trying to keep up
What a lovely poem to describe this time of year. There is definitely something special about Autumn, although I do love and embrace whichever season we are in at the time. xxx
It really does describe Autumn. I do embrace Autumn and the cooler days and nights especially now my boots are out
The poem is very beautiful! I love fall. I appreciate the reminder to embrace those quiet moments.
I find this time of year it is a time for reflection and enjoying the cosiness that the longer evenings bring
What a beautiful poem. Over the last week it does feel like Autumn is here. I’ve got the blankets out, been filling my hot water bottle and of course drinking plenty of hot chocolate. Tis the season. x
It has jumped into Autumn with a bang. We have the blankets out and my daughter has been using her hot water bottle for weeks now. Plus the hot chocolate
I love the October aura that brings a riot of autumn colors. Warmth of this month uplifts my mood.
The colours are amazing
I hope we all have a good start for October. October is the calmest month for me feels like everything will fall into its place.
October is always a busy month as we have a lot of important birthdays in November so preparing for those
Well done taking part in Blogtober, it is a lot of content to come up with! I am a big fan of October, I love the colours of the leaves and the cosy feelings it brings (and Halloween) of course.
I do love the change in seasons and the way nature changes
I love seeing the leaves change to their beautiful autumn colours, but at the moment just wish it would stop raining!
The rain has been awful yesterday was a nightmare and loads of flooding around where I live
I really enjoyed this poem. There really is about a week in the year when it’s the sort of sweet spot of everything you want in the weather. It’s a magical time for me.
I loved the poem and thought it said everything that was needed to how I felt
I will have to think about this one but am enjoying planting a few shrubs and trees for the pollinators next year. Unfortunately, a very heavy and windy spell of rain a few days ago snapped off two of my older plants, one of which I had been training into a weeping standard for over five years. Incredibly disappointed but will press on..
Oh no that is sad about your plants, the wind and rain has been non stop lately
I love the month of October, the scents in the air, the energy, the cold breeze, it is the best.
It has come as a welcoming freshness, not too cold but cool enough
I think we forget about the quiet moments of Autumn. Me, I’m waiting for half term so I can get some lie-ins
I often forget about the quiet moments but I do know what you mean about lie ins
remembering all those who have departed
giving thanks for having them in my life
I get this, I often think and speak of those who I have lost. I am forever talking about my Grandparents to C who never met them
I find it calming as I can focus on all the good tomes
I do get a sense of calming from the change in seasons but it is also a busy month for me
