With the summer holidays fast approaching, we will be looking at days out and things to do. Whilst we hope that the sun shines, we are also aware that this is the UK and at some point there will be grey and rainy days.
This does not have to stop us going out and having fun, which is why I am sharing a few museums and planetariums that we can visit when the weather is wet and miserable.

Natural History Museum
The Natural History Museum in London offers a great day out whether you are a child or an adult. With interesting exhibits and facts you never knew before. Melanie from Melanies Fab Finds shares her thoughts on visiting here
Royal Museums Greenwich
Whether you find space interesting or not, a trip to the Royal Observatory will have you star gazing in wonder. As you learn about what goes on all around us.
I never realised just what went on behind the scenes of these shows but have been reading up on how the shows are created and find it even more fascinating.
Battle of Bosworth Visitor Centre
Anyone who loves history, especially that of Richard III and Henry VII will love visiting the Battle Of Bosworth Centre. Head over to Clare from Freddies Mummy UK to read about her day out and the fun they had.
Science Museum
We have spent a few days visiting here in the past and have always loved the Science Museum. Great for the little scientist to learn and try new things.
What do you like to see from Museums, have you got a favourite that you would like to share. Or even a memory of one of the places listed above. For me no matter whether I have been before or not, I always learn something new.
I wish we lived closer to London and could visit more often. The train works out so expensive to get the whole family there
It is not cheap travelling on the train, we are lucky that we are close enough it is not stupidly expensive.
We catch the train down to London to spend the day there and will visit the Battle of Bosworth visitor centre on our next trip as we have never been there before
I do feel very lucky that I live in London and so it’s so accessible for me to visit these museums with the kiddies. The best thing about it is that they are free so it’s not going to hurt your wallet if you go there over and over again.
We are very close to London as well, and it is great having all these amazing places on our door step

Older children find museums fascinating; there is so much to see and stimulate their curiosity and imaginations! Many in the provinces, away from London, are free which is wonderful.
