Ca’ di Rajo “Rosé Brut” Prosecco Treviso DOC Millesimato 2019

Ca' di Rajo "Rosé Brut" Prosecco Treviso DOC Millesimato 2019

Ca’ di Rajo “Rosé Brut” Prosecco Treviso DOC Millesimato 2019 – Elegant pink Prosecco with touch of Pinot Noir bursting with flavours of summer berries. Featured in Forbes: “Ca’ Di Rajo Treviso Prosecco DOC Rosé is like springtime in a glass with notes of freshly picked strawberries, rose petals and a balancing tang of pomegranate.” – Nicole Trilivas. Featured in Decanter as part of “Best Prosecco under £20: Top picks”: “Warm, spicy, earthy red fruit scents with a lick of cream. Mouthfilling and creamy with ripe red fruits, it has some peppery spice and apple in the background. It has a very definite rosé character and that Pinot Noir is clearly making itself heard. Good texture and balance.” – James Button

This pink Prosecco is light, elegant and fresh, with an added sophistication from the Pinot Noir grape that makes it a bit special. This red grape gives the wine a vivid pink blush, as well as adding delicate tastes of wild strawberry and fresh raspberry. With its tiny bursting bubbles it almost feels like popping strawberry candy – a delicious sensation. The Glera and Pinot Noir grapes for this Rosé come from the village of Rai, near the Piave river, 30 miles north of Venice.

Tasting notes:

Fresh pink colour, flavours of wild strawberry, cranberry, fresh raspberry, and a sweet smell of candy. It’s a delightful summer drink, with a lower-than-usual alcohol (11.5%), and a light body. This pink Prosecco bursts with pleasant tiny bubble. Beware – the wine disappears from the glass faster than you can notice. A delight!

Awards: Decanter World Wine Awards 2021 – Bronze Medal (2019 vintage) | Falstaff – 90 points (2020 vintage)

Loacker Schwarhof Morit

Ca' di Rajo "Rosé Brut" Prosecco Treviso DOC Millesimato 2019

2. Loacker Schwarhof “Morit”, St Magdalener Classico, Alto Adige DOC 2020 – Fresh and juicy Schiava wine bursting with flavours of wild strawberry, raspberry and eucalyptus. St Magdalener is possibly the best sub-zone for Schiava wines in the whole of Alto Adige. “Morit” has more body and flavour than a regular Schiava, because it is blended with 15% Lagrein – Alto Adige’s iconic red grape. A small addition of Pinot Nero amplifies the fresh forest fragrance of red berries and herbs. The famous Italian food and wine magazine Slow Wine named Morit one of top wines of Trentino-Alto Adige. A fine recommendation, indeed!

Tasting Notes: Refreshing and vibrant, with notes of wild strawberry, red cherry, cranberry and raspberry. Herbal undertones of eucalyptus and mint, supported by undertones of sandalwood and raspberry jam. Racy, mouth-watering and pure.

Awards: Luca Maroni – 92 points (2020 vintage) | Gambero Rosso – Two Glasses (2019 vintage) | Slow Wine 2021 – Top wines of Trentino Alto Adige (2019 vintage) | Falstaff – 92 points (2019 vintage)

About Agua de Madre

Fermented in London, Agua de Madre is founded by foodie and film producer Nicola Hart.  Packed with flavour, this is the only water kefir on the market with billions of live cultures per 100ml and trace alcohol.  It’s new recipe means that it has less than 9 kcals per 100ml. A wonderfully sophisticated thirst quenching drink, it is packed full of goodness, organic, vegan, naturally fermented, sparkling and low in sugar.  Agua de Madre has the same amount of live cultures as most milk kefir, with none of the vinegary mouth feel of kombucha, it is the ultimate super food promoting a healthy gut and positive mental wellbeing.

The key ingredient is the mother culture discovered 2000 years ago in Mexico. Following the Madre’s secret recipe, the live culture is added to organic fruit and ginger and left to do its thing, creating a naturally probiotic water kefir.  It also becomes delightfully effervescent.

A study conducted by the University of Huddersfield confirmed the dominant strains of lactobacillus culture within Agua de Madre.  These natural live micro-organisms are easily absorbed, helping to restore or improve the gut flora.  Water kefir is currently regarded as one of the best sources of dietary probiotic, which studies have shown boost cognitive and mental wellbeing, reduce IBS symptoms and improve digestion.
