Here we are again, another week has flown by and time for my weekly diary of a menopausal mum post. How have you been coping with the heat this past week. Even C is moaning about the heat and how hot it is. We are actually finding reasons to pop out so we can cool off with the air conditioning in the car.

ToggleLast weekAMP, I shared how my dental nightmare has come back to haunt me. I was on antibiotics last week, that did help. Sadly as soon as I stopped them the pain came back. I was at the dentist again yesterday, topped up on pain killers, which meant she could get an X-ray.
I am now on really strong antibiotics, that are knocking me out, I was asleep on and off for most of the day yesterday. I am now waiting on an appointment for surgery to get the roots out, she said 3 in total. I am really not looking forward to it. But do want it done asap, as the pain is too much.
As you know I am now on HRT patches, which are very similar to the above picture. For those of you on the same. I have a question for you. How the hell do you keep the patch on and in place? Only experiencing problems since the hot weather. Which I do not understand as they worked fine when in South of France. If you have any tips I would be very grateful as they are just pealing off after a few hours.
I finally admitted to you all how much I hated our new sofa last week, and how I had been saved by an amazing collaboration I was working on. I shared earlier in the week my new sofaAMP from Oak Furnitureland.
We are loving, as I sit typing this, I have C laying next to me. She is not feeling too good today (think the heat is getting to her). She is loving how comfortable it is. Plus it is lovely, having her join us again in the lounge.
If you are needing to cool down, but keep running out of ice cream. How about making your own, the kids love getting involved.
I have the easiest recipe for homemade ice creamAMP, that has just 2 ingredients, plus flavouring. The best bit is you do not need any fancy ice cream machines. We have a lot of fun playing around with flavours.

I hope you have all had a good week. I have not been coping well in this heat. My poor family keep hearing I am melting or I am too hot. The above is quite apt for me at the moment.
I hope your dentist does get sorted! We got a new couch last month, I feel like everyone is updating their couches!

Argh so sorry to hear about your dental nightmare. But hurrah for your sofa win that’s great news. We really need to get a new sofa so will check them out.
I am used to my dental nightmare but seriously fed up of it now, we love the sofa but it was a hard choice

I had to take myself off the antibiotics as they made me feel really ill, hopefully not much longer to wait. We all need to be well stocked on ice cream at the moment
It sounds like you are having an awful time with tooth pain. I hope that they can get it sorted soon. We do love ice cream, a 2 ingredient ice cream sounds great.
It is painful but managing with it, and took myself off the antibiotics, hopefully not much longer to wait

this is such an easy fail proof recipe. I just need the whole dentist thing over, I have stopped taking the antibiotics as they made me ill and still feeling the effectts today
The heat is not helping at all; even worse, I am actually feeling myself dripping down my back, yuck!

Isn’t it just, I now need to find a way for my patches to stay in place
This heat has been making me knackered but not because of me but because it has been giving my kids the grump. My daughter has been throwing a tantrum almost every 2 hours and my son has just been ignoring almost every instruction I give him. Both of them are refusing to eat but I don’t blame them, it’s sooooo hot.
I had a few root canal removed and it’s not as painful as one might think. I wish you all the best though. Must not feel nice feeling that out of it in this heat as well.
Kids and heat are not a good match, am so glad mine are grown up now and the grandkids get away with anything haha. I now just need to wait for an appointment, I have had to stop taking the antibiotics as made me feel really ill
Oh that’s an interesting question about the HRT patches, I am definitely opting for these when I get to that stage as I suffer terribly with hormonal issues and I know these will help but I never thought about how they stay on! The heat has been extreme hasnt it. I dont mind it when I am not working but I have a physical job so it is exhausting and very sweaty!
The patches are great and changed twice a week again is great, but will they bloody stay on at the moment – no. I then have to go begging to my gp for a repeat prescription

I’m the opposite of you, I love the heat! I get cold way too easily. But it’s getting to triple digits here in SE Texas, so I think we will try making some homemade ice cream this weekend with the kids!
I hate the cold as well, but at least you can wrap up to keep warm which you can’t do in heat
I hope your surgery goes well and gets done soon! I can’t imagine the pain that must be causing.
