Another week has flown by, and into a new month. This year is certainly flying by far too quickly. Now time for my weekly round up post, and what a roller coaster this past week has been. I hope you have all had a good week. Take a break and catch up in my Diary Of A Menopausal Mum – 06/07/2022

ToggleYou all know the ongoing battle we have been having with C’s education.AMP As you will know she had an offer for the course she applied to do, which was then withdrawn. It was due to her EHCP from last year, and not the updated one for this year.
We have had such an amazing and supportive team behind us, and through my ongoing chasing, and their support. Yesterday we received an email to say that the college had reconsidered, and as long as she gets her entrance level exams (which she has), her place is there. We are over the moon, but it does go to prove, just how much discrimination there is for children with a chronic illness. Plus how much more we have to fight to get just the simplest things.
We now just have to sit and wait for the enrolment day. Sadly, there is no more taster days, which she missed out on due to the context of the email sent two days before.
Many of you will remember my teeth over lockdown, where one of my teeth broke and I could not get to speak to a dentist. I really thought that my troubles were over. The tooth was removed, and as my roots are very strong but teeth not so strong (thanks to pregnancy). It was agreed to leave the root.
While I was on holiday a few weeks ago, I was eating a sandwich over lunch when I heard crack. No pain or anything, and could not see or feel anything. On Saturday, I got the worst pain of my life, and by Sunday, had worked out the crack, was probably my root breaking. I finally saw my Dentist yesterday, who could not get anywhere near me. She has put me on antibiotics, and I am back next Tuesday to see if she can take an X-ray. I may need referring for surgery to get the root out. Never a dull moment for me. The plus side is I can not eat as it is too painful, so will be losing weight.
One thing we love is music, especially going to see live music performances. A while ago we were driving past Painshill Park, which is a local National Trust. Bridgerton fans may also recognise it from outdoor scenes in the show. We saw they were doing live music nights, and as it is local we booked tickets for this evening.
You may remember back in January, we got a new sofaAMP. The style was lovely and the colour gorgeous and it looked great. Sadly, that is all the positives, I have never had such an uncomfortable sofa in my life. Not wanting to admit this to my husband, I kept quiet and spent less and less time in our lounge. He finally, realised and asked me if this was the reason.
I was so upset as it had been my final decision as he wanted a chesterfield style. I have been saved by an amazing collaboration I am currently working on. Keep an eye out for an upcoming post.

It will search out discounts for the website you are on. I have saved so much using this even on my weekly grocery shopping. It has been an interesting week for you indeed, glad you’ve seen the doctor for your teeth and hopefully this will get resolved soon. I’m seeing more and more music festivals taking place so it is wonderful to see things being normal again
I am getting there slowly witht my teeth, we arre looking at going to a festival as I have never been to one

Tooth pain is definitely the worse pain, well that and Ear pain and even more so when combined together I recently had a tooth break as well and I’m currently waiting to get an appointment.

Oh I am sooooo happy for you and C. I’ve been hoping every week when you do your diary, to see C finally get accepted and she did. Although I can completely emphasise with your teeth situation. After pregnancy my teeth became loose and cracked as well. I had to undergo root canal treatment and now i have a denture before getting my implant in August. It’s a horrible experience
It was such a relief to hear she got her offer back, and I did email the college asking tons of questions. My teeth are a nightmare strong roots but the teeth are just crumbling. I hate wearing my denture and looking at getting implants
I have never heard of the extension Honey, but do like a bargain, so will read up about it!

It has been a nightmare but we got there in the end. On antibiotics so hopefully should be able to move forward with treatment next week

That is awesome news, I am so glad they decided to go ahead & offer it to her! They should have stuck with the offer the first time around even if something did get messed up on their end. That is exciting to hear.
They should have, or at least not sent that email last week, when she could have gone for the taster day
oh don’t remind me about going to dentists, I haaaate it…My next appointment is in two weeks UGH….
I actually don’t mind the dentist which is a plus considering I seem to live there at the moment, now opticians is another story
