I am a little late writing up my weekly round up post Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 10/09/2025. It is now after lunch and only just sat down to do some work. I am having problems with my car and after dropping C off I headed over to my friends to see if they can help.

My Week
Health
After the week we had last week with C’s health and finding out she has hypermobility and now waiting on the letter to go down that route. There is no cure or medication thankful for the no medication. It can be helped with physio. So we need to wait for the letter to come through so that we can start down that route.
We had the official letter regarding her Botox injections finishing for her chronic migraines. Her new medication will be delivered to her and to start beginning of October.
Grief
I am really struggling this week. I seem to be getting tearful over so much at the moment. It has not helped that there has been more drama again at the weekend. It just broke me, to the extent I have told everyone for now I am being selfish and concentrating on myself and C as I have not got the strength for anything else. 7 months every single weekend there has been something and something needs to give.
Car
Honestly, I never realised just how much I relied on my husband for dealing with the car. Honestly, this past 26 years I just put petrol in that is it. I keep getting coolant needs topping up and I top it up then it happens again. So went to see my friend earlier and we have put something in that will hopefully seal the leak. She also told me I need to top up on oil so have ordered some to pick up later. I am keeping everything crossed that this has worked and the car will be ok now.
Budgies
As I have not done one for a while, and people have been mentioning the budgies. I thought it would be nice to give an update.
The photo on the left is Kiwi the budgie we rescued and our newest one. He now has a brand new cage on his own as he can not fly. He does socialise with the others and will go in the big cage for a while. But the others are quiet mad and it sometimes gets too much for him. He is so funny and loves me. If C has him out and I go in her room he will start bobbing around and then climb down C and run over to me and climbs up my left arm and sits on my shoulder.
I chose the other picture as this is Pippy (left) Willow (middle) and Louie (right). Willow is the baby of Pippy and Louie – she is a huge character but so great with Kiwi. C is finishing her work experience for her course this year at the weekends.
It seems when C is on work experience, Pippy or one other others will start to show signs of nesting. Yesterday C was in college and I kept popping in to see the birds. When C came home Pippy was busy making a nest at the bottom of the cage. So on the way home from college today we are off to the pet shop to get new perches for the spare cage for Pippy to go in with a nesting box. Willow will hate it as she screams for her mum if she is not near her. The nesting cage is next to Kiwi’s cage so might have to put her in with Kiwi so she can be next to her. I bet you never thought there would be so much drama with budgies.
The rest of them are ok and just being them. Each of them have such different personalities it is amazing.

How has your week been?
It is so cute that your budgie goes and visits the other ones!! I honestly do not have anything to do with my car either – it’s all my husband. It’s the little things that show up, that show how much he cared and looked after you.
Although you would not think it at times when they get angry with each other, they do get along really well. I just have no clue with the car and just doing everything as I am advised
I think it’s good that you’re being selfish and just concentrating on you and C. You need to look after yourself and others that can fend for themselves need to give you some space x

Thank you, it has taken me 7 months to realise this but now it is time for me and C to start to heal
I’m so glad to hear the budgies are getting along so well. I’m sorry C’s condition can’t be cured, but at least it can be managed. That’s something.
The budgies are so funny and mostly really good with Kiwi they seem to understand something is wrong. I do need to look into C’s condition more but for now it is getting a formal diagnosis so we can get physio. We are doing small things we know and that is helping already
So lovely to see pictures of the budgies. Bless their little souls, they are full of chatter and fun. A nice distraction for you and C.
Sorry to read about your new car. Some people are really lucky with cars and some are not. I hope that the oil and your friend’s fix do the trick. You really don’t need to worry about a car when you’ve got so much else going on in your life at the moment.

The budgies are a huge distraction, I swear I spend more time with them chatting to them than I do anything else.
I did not get a ping of check coolant this morning so that is good, just need to check later when cooled down and top the oil up, My husband was always lucky with cars which is why I tried to channel his thought process.
No wonder everyone wants to know more about the budgies, they’re the cutest….Kiwi and his toy are adorable omg…So cute…
There may be regular updates on them as it looks like Pippy is nesting again and now in a cage with Louie. But she does not like the shredded paper and we think she is waiting for the nesting stuff I have coming today. That is C’s toy he just perched on it
