It is soon to be the most expensive quarter of the year. Yep, that’s right, 3 months until Christmas. Unless you have been saving up for Christmas all year, it can be worrying. But never give up, because there is always an unusual way to make some money. Maybe you don’t have anything to sell, or you are not great at making things as ways to make money. But I am a believer that you will always make money if you need it. Which is why I have come up wih a few Unusual Ways To Make Money For Christmas.
Making money can sometimes involve thinking outside the box. Here are some unusual ways to make money to spend on Christmas this year, and potentially earn all year round.

Rent Things Out
You do not need to sell the things that you love, you can rent them out instead. It is easy money and you get to keep your own stuff. You will need to think about how other people might not look after your stuff as much as you do. And things can come back damaged. So you need to ask for a deposit too from the people borrowing your stuff. The deposit should be enough to replace the product if it is damaged or stolen.
Renting out your pet:
If you have a well-behaved and friendly pet, you could offer pet rental services. Some people may be interested in spending time with animals without the full-time commitment of owning a pet. Someone might also want to rent your pet out for a loved one to make them feel better. Whether this is a good idea and ethical is down to you and whether you would trust others with your pet. Pets are not just cats and dogs, they are also reptiles and spiders. So renting these out to kids’ parties is a great idea for making money. You will need the right insurance in place.
Renting your electricals and tech:
If you have things like expensive camera gear, power tools, or recreational equipment that you don’t use often, consider renting them out. Other people might need a camera to take the professional camera to take some shots for a business, so they could rent your camera. They might even hire you to take the photos. If someone is doing some major DIY, you can rent your power tools out to help get the job done.
Rent your space out:
If you live in a city and have a driveway, rent it out to someone to park there. You could rent out any land you have for weekly car boot sales or turn it into a camping space for the summer. Rent out your garage as a space for someone to store stuff. Rent your house out to TV companies for filming. The ideas of renting your space are endless.

Some companies pay people to wrap their cars with advertisements and drive around populated areas and busy cities. It is a great way to get the word out for a company. In London, you see taxis that have been wrapped in ads. These taxis are more noticeable and you remember them. You will essentially be turning your car into a moving advertisement.
Selling influencer space:
This is a quite popular thing for influencers and bloggers to do. If you have a website or social media with good interaction and following, you can make a lot of money. Bloggers might put a badge on their site advertising a brand and making it easy for customers to go and look at the website. You charge the space for a certain amount of time, 1 month, 3 months or a year. But remember to get in touch to renew the ad space.
Rent advertisement space on your building:
If you have a building like a home or a business on a main street or in a big city, you can sell advertising space. Companies will pay for posters or banners to be hung from the outside of your building. When you have a new driveway or extension built, you let people advertise for free. So why not charge companies? Some companies will pay for an advertisement space in your building window.

Look around your home for unique or bizarre items that might interest collectors or enthusiasts. Odd collectables, vintage toys, or even strange art pieces can find buyers on platforms like eBay or Etsy. Unusual stuff can sell for big money because people will get into a bidding war for it.

If you have long and healthy hair, you might be able to sell it to wigmakers. Many people grow their hair and get it cut off for charity, but you can make money from it too. Many people in less well-off countries sell their hair to put food on the table. So why can’t you do it? The hair is used for human extensions and wigs.
Creating personalised videos:
If you have a talent for impersonations, storytelling, or creating engaging videos, you can offer personalised video messages for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, or celebrations. You do not need to be an influencer to do this. Even famous people were selling personalised videos to make some extra cash during Covid.
Selling your body parts ….. for medical reasons:
Yes you actually can make money doing this. You will get paid for being part of medical trials. It might not be much, but it is worth it. If you are still fertile and young, you can sell your eggs to help women have children of their own. It can be painful and a long-winded process, but so rewarding as you are ultimately helping someone to create a family.

I sold my hair for charity a couple of times. The company said they couldn’t pay a third party so I banked their cheque and donated the same amount to a local animal shelter. The nice thing is the wig-making company are happy to accept hair that is either grey or greying and it doesn’t have to be really long, either.
It is always good to look at ways to save money especially with Christmas. I do love the thought of selling hair to charity I may look into that as looking to go a bit shorter with my hair
