1. Start early
The earlier you start planning your trip, the less stressed you’ll be. Begin by making a list of everything you need to do and when you need to do it as well as looking for places to stay in durham. This will help you stay organised and on track.
2. Don’t procrastinate
Procrastination will only add to your stress levels. On the other hand, if you start early, you’ll be less likely to put things off until the last minute. You’ll also find the best deals for things like holidays in the Peak District and the travel items you need to buy if you get ahead and avoid procrastination.
3. Set a budget
Before you start booking flights or hotels, set a budget for your trip. This will help you avoid overspending and keep your financial stress to a minimum.
4. Travel during off-peak times
If possible, avoid travelling during the busiest times of the year. This includes major holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Not only will you save money, but you’ll also avoid the crowds and the long lines at airports and attractions.
5. Pack light
Packing light is one of the best ways to reduce travel stress. Avoid bringing unnecessary items and focus on packing only the essentials. This will make it easier to carry your bags and keep track of your belongings.
6. Make a list of what you need to pack
To avoid forgetting anything important, make a list of everything you need to pack. This will help you stay organised and make sure you don’t forget anything vital.
7. Roll your clothes instead of folding them
This tip is especially helpful if you’re travelling with a carry-on bag. Rolling your clothes instead of folding them saves space and prevents wrinkles.
8. Wear comfortable shoes
Wearing comfortable shoes is crucial when travelling. You’ll be doing a lot of walking, so make sure your shoes are up for the task. Avoid wearing new shoes or shoes that are uncomfortable. This will only add to your stress levels.
9. Leave room in your suitcase for souvenirs
If you’re planning on buying souvenirs, make sure to leave some extra space in your suitcase. This will prevent you from having to pack too much and lugging around a heavy bag.
10. Travel with an open mind
One of the best ways to reduce stress while travelling is to have an open mind. Things will inevitably go wrong, but try to roll with the punches and enjoy yourself. Don’t let the little hiccups ruin your trip.
11. Stay positive
No matter what happens, try to stay positive. This positive attitude will help you enjoy your trip and make the best of any situation.
12. Relax and don’t sweat the small stuff
The holidays are a time to relax and enjoy yourself. Don’t sweat the small stuff; remember that it’s all part of the adventure. Embrace the chaos and have fun!

That is really good advice. I do tend to roll my clothing as it seems to make everything fit better and also means I have extra space left in my bag for gifts I may buy for those at home.
I apparently am useless at packing according to my husand, this is what he told me years ago. So now I take full advantage and remind him of this as I leave my pile of packing for him to pack haha
