The weather is getting colder. Even my car has to tell me when I go out in the mornings by pinging to let me know what the temperature is. One thing we all want is to feel warm and cosy when at home. So I am looking at ways of keeping warm this winter.

ToggleOne of the first things to check is drafts, make sure your windows and doors keep the cold weather out. This is probably the easiest thing to check. And will save you money on trying to battle to keep your house warm.
It is advised to have your central heating system checked each year, we have a maintenance contract where we get our boiler checked each year, and any repairs or problems are covered throughout the year. One of the most common complaints is boiler breakdowns, and if yours is very old, or prone to breakdowns it may be worth looking at getting a new boiler, to make sure you are not left sitting in a cold house.
Keep warm by wearing warm clothing, there is nothing nicer than slipping on your cosy slippers and a warm jumper to keep you feeling warm while at home.
Look at changing curtains to thicker textiles that will keep the cold out, it is amazing just how effective these are. Another thing we love is warm throws, you can choose from fleece throws, faux fur which we all love.
The ultimate and most satisfying way to stay warm,AMP is a hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows. Put this together with a warm throw and a family film and you will forget about the cold weather outside.
How do you keep warm during the colder weather?
Great tips, as always. Although I have the boiler checked every year, I delay switching on the heating for as long as I can manage without it due to the high costs of energy. Instead, I wear lots of warm clothing and have fluffy rugs scattered around the place which work a treat.
We get our boiler checked every year and have it set to come on at a certain temperature but it does feel cold before it does come on
We survive the winter with lots of hot chocolates and all the cosy jumpers . Great post
