In fact, a survey by Legal & General revealed that 1 in 4 people surveyed admitted to working their childhood dream job. Wow! So what were the top childhood dream jobs? Becoming a teacher came top of the list with 11%, followed by Vets (8%) and Doctors (7%).
Not everyone follows a direct path towards their childhood dream job and some jobs weren’t even invented when we were children. Board game consultant, Ben [34], also shares the same sentiment:
‘I think if I was able to speak to my younger self, he wouldn’t understand the job I have now. It just wasn’t on my radar as a kid that you could make and play games for a living. I feel like I would tell them not to worry, I still play football, I still make music, just it’s not what brings in the money.’

Yes I think there is
Never too late but can be difficult and depends on finances!
This is true, but sometimes health and happiness has to be considered
I never had a dream job but always wanted to be a new age traveller when i was younger, I had no idea what that was but my sisters told memy mum and dad were not really mine and that i had been dropped on the doorstep by them. It didn’t happen though!
I went through so many dream jobs, then worked in a Building Society for years, only reason I left was the Manager and it got too hard sell

I agree but it is achieveable
I wanted to work with animals in some way but never did. Stuck in an office doing admin work. The trouble is to retrain you need time and money.
C is doing animal care and loving it, maybe look to see if there is some way you can work with animals
The job I dreamed of as a child was working in Forensic Science! All the time it was not nearly as well known as today, and I ended up doing a Chemistry degree instead! Whenever there are programs on TV where it shows them using forensic science, I still wish I had done it!
That would have been an amazing career to have
I dream job kept changing when I was a child. It was an artist, then an illustrator, then an archaeologist, an air hostess and the last thing I wanted to be was a teacher. However I never sought jobs in any of those area as I never developed the skills or talent for it and some involves a lot of travelling and I realise I love my family way too much to ever leave their side.
I am a bit lost on what I want to be now. It is a bit frustrating not having a dream or a goal to look forward to achieving, Most of the jobs I’ve done was because they were the only ones who accepted my job application and I went into it just to pay the bills. A bit sad really… Weirdly, the job I enjoyed the most was being a waitress and meeting all sorts of wonderful people but sadly it was the one that pay the least and I really struggled financially working as a waitress
I had so many dream jobs then went into banking which I loved until it became targets and hard selling
