Project SHOUT

Have you heard about Project SHOUT? If you have then this is a reminder update, if you have not heard about it then read on as it could save your life and that of your family.

Project SHOUT is raising awareness of carbon monoxide poisoning, or the silent killer as it is also known.  We have all seen news stories relating to this, and it is so easily prevented.

What is Carbon Monoxide?

Carbon Monoxide is a very dangerous toxic gas, it is odourless, colourless and tasteless. The reality is you will not know if you are being affected by it. Carbon monoxide poisoning accounts for approximately 50 deaths in the UK and up to 4000 medical visits each year. Which is sadly rising each year.

What are the symptoms of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning?

The symptoms of Carbon Monoxide poisoning include –

  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Fatigue
  • Fainting

You could quite easily think you have flu, food poisoning or are just tired. If you have these symptoms and they disappear when you leave your home, the first indication is carbon monoxide poisoning and should be taken very seriously.

How Can I Prevent Carbon Monoxide Poisoning?

This is the silly thing, you can purchase Carbon Monoxide alarms, that will alert you if it is traced in your home.

This digital Carbon Monoxide alarm costs just £24.99 and has a 7 year life.

Project SHOUT want to make everyone aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning, and I was very happy to come on board and help raise awareness.

I am asking each and everyone one of you to please share this post, and if you do not have one make your next purchase a carbon monoxide alarm, and talk about it with friends and family as you could be saving their life.
