My name is Simone Ribeiro. I’m a Brazilian blogger and journalist living in Birmingham since 2011. I am founder of Midlands Traveller, a blog about business opportunities, travel industry and wellness.

Has Your Blog Changed Since You First Started Blogging?

Very much. My blogs used to be personal, I used to talk about my daily routine and other boring issues lol But I also started writing about music and culture at that time and it was great.

What Has Been Your Funniest Moment Since Starting Your Blog?

The funniest moment was when I interviewed a musician from Belfast here in Birmingham and as it was all recorded, I needed to transcript the whole file before publishing it. However, I didn’t understand his accent in some parts, so I ended up asking for his help to “translate” it to me. Funny and embarrassing at the same time.

What Has Been Your Worst Moment Since Starting Your Blog?

It was definitely when I decided to change my domain name last year. It was like starting everything from scratch to increase my DA again.

What Advice Would You Give To A New Blogger Starting Out?

Just do it. It’s a wonderful roller coaster journey. But don’t hesitate.

What Surprised You About Blogging That You Did Not Realise Before You Started Blogging?

That blogging can become your business.

What Do You Like To Do In Your Spare Time?

I love going for long walking in the countryside with my husband. I also love listening to music and spoiling my beloved cat Dougal.

If You Won The Lottery What Would You Do First?

Treat my family with whatever they want from me.

Who Is Your Blogging Hero and Why?

I love reading travel magazines and books. I also love reading Alan De Botton blogs, but I don’t have a blogging hero. I like YouTubers such as Casey Nestait and Daniele Noce that inspire me as creators.
